There is very little meat here. Unless you are just getting started in the world, you won't find anything imponderable in this book. Basic stuff.
The delivery walks a fine line, often stumbling, between corny and light-hearted. The subject isn't one suitable for jokes.
I wanted some serious insight into difficult people---and not just the obviously difficult types like ego maniacs, but people who can't decisions or people who must always be the origin of every new idea.
Rarely do I complete an audio book and then delete it from my computer. If I should ever want to listen again, I'll download it.

I was literally about to walk out on my job before I downloaded this book. After listening to chapter 4, dealing with difficult bosses, I decided to give it another chance. As soon as my boss blew up at me again, I bit my tongue and remembered Lilley's advice, and in a matter of minutes, I had my bully boss apologizing and going out of his way to be nice to me. I highly recommend this for anyone who's butting heads. It has helped me not only deal with difficult people, but also realize how difficult I can be.
This isn't as broad as I had hoped. Early on it gives outlines of difficult personalities based on the 'sherman tank, sniper, exploder' model but doesn't go into a great amount of detail on how to deal with them. There is also a 'just do xyz and we'll all have a jolly time' air to some of the solutions.
I'm only half way through listening but its now talking about managing employees in a sales office. Best to look up the book's index at Amazon to see if this is what you are looking for.
This was an enjoyable book to listen to. I liked its light-hearted approach. Most of the content of this book is really geared toward managers, so I didn’t feel like much of it applied to me, but I’ll keep it around for future reference. The book skims over a variety of difficult situations/people and touches on possible solutions. It doesn’t offer very indepth advice, but maybe it’s more useful that way. Most people reading this might prefer basic tips they can apply right away. So overall, this book didn’t rock my world, but it was still interesting.
Very enjoyable. I like the author sense of humor. Not only did it help me deal with difficult people, it help me to understand myself.
