Publisher's summary

Consciousness, teaches Fred Kofman, is the capacity to observe, choose, and act in accord with your values. And "conscious business" means using that ability at every level of your work: in being aware of the needs of others and expressing your own; in seeing the hidden emotional obstacles that may be holding your team back; in making good decisions under pressure; and even in delving into such "spiritual" questions as "Who am I?" and "What is my real purpose here?"

In Conscious Business, you'll join this visionary teacher and founder of Leading Learning Communities to master these skills.

Critic reviews

"Useful tools for the corporate world and for individual growth....His manner is pleasant, acknowledges the individual, never condescends, and offers some genuinely helpful reminders about human nature." (ForeWord Magazine)

Personal Skills & Business Contribution

Conscious Business is more a series of seminars which are spoken by the author Fred Kaufman in a warm soothing tone. I work in IT for HP as a full time consultant to Cisco Systems. It may simply be the time in my life, or the business environment in which I find myself, but I found Fred's perspective remarkably moving and enlightening. Fred does a excellent job of identifying the personal skills required to work effectly in a business setting and goes on to provide a wealth of suggestions on how to develop those skills. Throughout the book he does a good job of keeping the lines of personal development and business contribution parallel, however, if I were to offer one reservation, I think he could have drove that relationship home more as he concluded the series. This is certainly the best business management book I have encountered, and I have read quite a few lately.

Highly Recommended

This is the best book I've heard yet from audible.com. Fred Kofman is an entertaining and educational speaker who doesn't seem to be reading. He uses memorable, often funny examples to illustrate his ideas. I have heard or read variations on some of his concepts in other books, but every idea is good and true. Fred Kofman is incredibly smart and also has a lot of common sense and humility.

Nice, but to long

This book is filled with useful information, it just take 9 hours to find it. I listen to audio books every day to and from work and this is the first one that I was not able to finish. The book seemed to drag on and on. I would put this lower on you wish list for now.

My favourite Book on Audible

This is the only audible book I really cherish and I have listen to twice, if not more. Fred gives so many examples that just identify perfectly with corporate life = but on the other hand, the narration is almost like a lecture, not a book. You will change the way you work with people after reading this book.

85% of this book is common sense that most people already know

I can’t say this is a bad book, there are some fundamentals that would greatly improve a workplace if all employees would adhere to these principles. Unfortunately, I did not find most of these fundamentals to be new or ground breaking: find ways to stay true to your core values, be open to new ideas, keep your promises, etc.

I did not like his categorizing people as either a player or a victim. I think humans are two complex to be thrown into two categories. While I understand his use of the term victim, I feel like that may not be a great word to use in a context such as this due to the meaning the word victim holds in our society.

WOW

This is one of the best books I have ever heard or read that deals with developing oneself as a person, and as a leader. It has kicked off a subtle yet profound change in the way I am at work and in all areas of my life. I've felt compelled to recommend it to my staff, my friends, my lover... at the risk of sounding like a total nutter to all concerned!

Fred narates the program and while some reviews mentioned that he was difficult to listen to, I didn't find this at all. I'm now on my second listening, and his melodic tones are as soothing as the concepts are moving...

So if you are umming or ahhing on this download, do it - I haven't regretted a moment of the 15 odd hours I've listened to so far...

ZZZZZZ......

I found this listen to be very difficult to stay awake for. Not only was the content very un-enlightening (I could have said everything of importance in 30 seconds) but it is written and spoken in such a manner that is difficult to stay focussed on. For those looking for improvement in their lives, you can find much, much more in some of the "classics"

EXCELLENT

It's an excellent book for anyone who wants to improve the way they do business, the way they communicate with each other, the way they handle relationships, and many other aspects of our daily life. It's all practical and you can start using it right away. I really liked it. And I do recommend it to everyone.

Difficult business

This booke has a lot of good and usefull information but it is difficult to listen to. Fred Kofman comes from Argentina and speaks vith a heavy spanish accent which makes this audiobook difficult to listen to. Sorry Fred but your book should have been read by an english speaking person.
