One of the best! It spoke to me in areas I needed to hear.
There are so many take-aways from the book for me. I think in the beginning John laid it out very well: Branding is marketing with people not against them; it's not about market share it's about mindshare; Your brand is not a campaign but a commitment. The rest of the book shows how to make those outcomes a reality.
No? Just an excellent book and I will preach John's message to friends and colleagues.
First of all, I would like to thank John Morgan for writing this book. I'm transitioning from being a factory worker to being a full time Entrepreneur, so my purchase of this book is right on time. Whether you're just starting in business or you've been in business for decades, "Brand Against the Machine" is a must read and must experience book.
My plan as an Entrepreneur, is to touch and enrich the lives of my customers, clients, and partners. By applying what I've learned from "Brand Against the Machine", I am confident that my goals will be achieved. This book is for the serious business person that does not want to leave anything to chance. My suggestion is to purchase audio-book and the Kindle version.
Either I will meet you at the top of your Industry or I'll send you a post card when you go out of business. My hope is that you'll buy the book, read it, apply what you learn, and then achieve spectacular success.

If you are new to marketing then this is a good primer covering the basics of entrepreneurial marketing well. But if you have read other marketing books or blogs published after 2003 then you're not going to learn anything new here.
Great book and will be pushing this out to my franchise system to Brand Against the Machine. All small business owner need to read this book!
I do not believe documentaries or radio programs count so, this is my first time ever listening to an audio book. Trust me when I say this, I had such a wonderful time listening. I would definitely recommend John's book to a beginner entrepreneur such as myself or even someone who has great ideas that they would like to see come to life. And if you are none of what I just mentioned you should listen to this book anyway because, you will get some awesome advice! Who knows maybe I will be asking for your autograph or desperately wanting a picture with you! Thank you.
Everything in here seems to make sense, but it doesn't leave me super inspired. The main problem I have with these "how to" books is that they're not particularly memorable or exciting. If you're going to listen to one book on this topic, I would say listen to Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs. Most of the broad themes covered here are covered in that book, and they're super inspiring and memorable. The messages are really quite similar. If you've already done that, and you're ankle deep in running a business, then listen to this book next. It obviously goes into more specifics.
"Amazing must read"
Loved it , recommended, funny, very useful , really enjoyed the content and tips and ideas and new ways of thinking and make a successful business , John is a great guy
The author begins very well with some excellent quotes from Johnson in the 1700's about advertising, and is probably the best part of the book. It promises a lot from the first 10 minutes, but then goes absolutely nowhere with a collection of bland marketing theory backed up by very poor personal anecdotes. Ironically a book that is meant to talk about creating a great brand, leaves me with a very bitter taste. Absolutely destroying his own brand.
Great book if your into startups, Branding, entrepreneurship, marketing and business in general like me. I actually saw a video interview by John Morgan about branding before i bought this. Best book i've bought this year 5/5.
I Highly recommend This and The Real Deal: My Story from Brick Lane to Dragons' Den by james Caan which was also Fantastic.
