Train your brain to be a real contrarian and outsmart the crowd
Beat the Crowd is the real contrarian's guide to investing, with comprehensive explanations of how a true contrarian investor thinks and acts - and why it works more often than not. Best-selling author Ken Fisher breaks down the myths and cuts through the noise to present a clear, unvarnished view of timeless market realities. He also points out the ways in which a contrarian approach to investing will outsmart the herd. In true Ken Fisher style, the book explains why the crowd often goes astray - and how you can stay on track.
Contrarians understand how headlines really affect the market and which noise and fads they should tune out. Beat the Crowd is a primer to the contrarian strategy, teaching readers simple tricks to think differently and get it right more often than not.
A successful investment strategy requires information, preparation, a little bit of brainpower, and a larger bit of luck. Pursuit of the mythical perfect strategy frequently lands folks in a cacophony of talking heads and 24-hour noise, but Beat the Crowd cuts through the mental clutter and collects the pristine pieces of actual value into a tactical approach based on going against the grain.

I am inspired by the beautiful women, girls, and men who I’ve met over the years that lack the self-esteem to recognize their own beauty.
The announcer did a great job.
I call this a feel bad book. It offers no actionable advice only a lot of regurgitation of cliche admonishing the reader to not follow the crowd and not be an all out contrarian. It flips back and forth saying the market is full of surprises but is not a random walk. It even spends a whole chapter naming many better books you should have bought.
The one tool it introduces is LEI saying it is the only tool you need but admits it did nothing for investors before the biggest market correction of our lifetime the crash of 2008. But he says they fixed that it would have worked in its new form. Worthless! In the past Ken used to tout a concept called PSR but stopped talking about that when it was clear it never did work.
Ken also cherry picks some articles he wrote in Forbes, where he was right and reads them in a "how smart am I manor". but this book has conveniently forgotten his many wrong bits advice in Forbes.
Ken Fisher is a hanger-on hack whose father Phillip Fisher was a great author of books on walls street. Looks like another child of greatness trying to sell a few books to pay the rent.
Beside the real objective contrarianism, the book has many general informative guidelines for investors. Moreover, the authors recommended many splendid books that all investors should read as well.
I read and listen to a lot of books centered on this topic. Beat the crowd delivered sound practical advice that did not focus on the academics of finance. Well done!
I have over 500 books in my library
Position of the author has equipped him with useful knowledge and insights into the subject.
Fishers transparency about his own investing is great. You often hear of how people buy or sell at just the right time but rarely hear of their mistakes. Also the list of authors he recommends reading are golden.
"Take it from a billionaire with thirty years at Forbes"
Fishers is one of the very few ultra successful financiers that write plain and straight without the minutia and boring details that others fill their books with. I have over 600 books in my library and over 95% in finance and Ken Fisher is one of the few I would take time to 1) write a review for and 2) recommend for serious study/application about the stock market. I do suggest any practitioner of the market read his book Debunkery,The only three questions that still count and Markets never forget but people do.Starting there would be a much better selection for your time and money as opposed to the myriad of books/claims out there with unknown/unproven authors.
EXCELLENT JOB BROTHER, KEEP IT GOING!!!
