Publisher's summary

Ashton Barclay, or as I like to call him, Mr. B. for "Bossy", is fast becoming the bane of my existence. After running into him, literally, he’s now popping up everywhere and somehow managing to weave his way into my life. He’s egotistical, smug, and so ridiculously good-looking it should be illegal - he’s way too hot to handle. I don’t do hot, those type of guys are more trouble than they’re worth. Although, I’d secretly love to do him. We’ve kissed once - it was smokin’, and led to me dry humping his leg in front of the entire club like a shameless hussy. Oh, and did I mention I deep-throated his thumb within seconds of meeting him, and I didn’t even know his name. Apparently, I have issues. Big ones. He makes me do things I never imagined myself doing. He makes me feel things I’m not comfortable feeling. It just wouldn’t work, even if I wanted it to. Between us, we have more baggage than a carousel at LAX airport. He’s everything I want but can never have. Or so I thought.

Emma, you're a badass survivor!

I thought that this story was great and the narrators did a great job. Now just tell me where Karla and Grayson's story is? I need to know what happened. It is eating at me...

Emma and Ashton

J.L. Perry is a new to me author. I’m glad I got the pleasure to indulge myself with this book. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author. This was a little bit of a frustrating journey to go on with Ashton and Emma. Past hurts, insecurities, and the inability to let go holds these two in a sort of holding pattern. Their chemistry is undeniable, their banter is witty, and their friendship was charming. I enjoyed this story.
Narration was wonderful!

GREAT!

Fantastic book! Passionate, full of mischief and loving/hate relationship. Family values but more than anything the fact that real love can survive and surpass any obstacles is the main message on this great book!

Bossy Bastard

I liked this one but it took me a while to connect with Ashton (the Hero), like halfway though the book. I just didn’t understand why he broke all his rules for Emma. They had an interesting relationship. But as the storyline progressed I liked him more and more. There was some unexpected emotional scenes and then the best grand gesture to make up for that little heartbreak. I’ll be looking forward to reading her follow up book for Greyson too.

So deep! ❤

Wow, I feel like I got more from this story than expected. Listening about Emma's and Ashton's story of friendship to lovers is a journey of acceptance. They go from insta-lust to psuedo enemies, to awkward friends, to lovers after baring their baggage.
Chance plays a part in this, and so does Carla. 😁
Warning for animal lovers 😢 it's not bad though or pointless, just sad.
Trigger warning for people who've attempted or have (had) thoughts of suicide. PSA: no matter where you're at in your life reach out to someone, a stranger online, a mental health professional, a friend, or family member.

Another winner in Hero Club Collection

Ashton and Emma has some pretty serious communication issues. As their past traumas came to light it made sense why they each reacted the way they did. This was my first book from this author and I will certainly check out more.

It is about sex

Hate when the heroine was so easy to jump in bed with a man whore. Hate when the inner dialogue didn’t match her action. Hate when heroine act so strong but contradict with her actions. I was one hour in this story and had to stop. Can’t stand weak heroine. I loved other Hero Club series but not this one.
