Publisher's summary

A PI's routine investigation of infidelity among Hollywood elite uncovers a transnational conspiracy of terror aimed at his client's entire family.

Power-broker Hollywood talent manager Lyndon Fox's wife, Deirdre, hires epileptic LA private detective Scott Brody after a previous private detective she assigned to keep tabs on her husband's suspected infidelity is killed in Cabo San Lucas when she and her husband vacation there. An unknown assailant stalks her after she returns home.

A secretive FBI agent named Peltz tells Brody that Lyndon Fox is involved with a cabal burrowed inside the FBI who, with the help of the deep state, are conspiring to take down the president of the United States. Peltz wants Brody to help him obtain evidence to expose Fox, as assailants ramp up their terrorism of the Fox family.

As Deirdre's world collapses around her, she must find out the truth about who is responsible before she loses everything—including her life.

Great Story and Narration

The story was a great listen. It was a book I wouldn’t read personally by choice but I ended up liking it very much. The narration was very well done. Really emphasizes the emotion in the conversations.

Great Narrator!

While listening to the story, I found myself becoming more and more interested due to the way the narrator, Tim Welch, told the story. He spoke with expression and was able to make the story interesting to listen to. He was able to distinguish the characters by changing his tone of his voice, making the story easy to follow. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook and would love to listen to another audiobook by this narrator.

Bolt Review

A scared wife in Los Angeles hires PI Scott Brody because she believes her husband has hired someone to pursue her in revenge for her hiring a PI to look into him. The private investigator she hired was killed in Mexico when the couple was vacationing there, and now that they have returned home, she believes someone is chasing her. They are both in a lot more trouble than they realize in actuality. As attackers intensify their terrorism against the Fox family, Peltz wants Brody to assist him in gathering evidence to expose Fox. Bolt is rife with hidden agendas, bloodshed, and intrigue, and I'm not sure what to make of it. I was frustrated by the audio, partly because of how foolish the protagonist was. It's a great novel. It is a story of trickery and betrayal. Additionally, it depicts hidden love. There is a lot of action and violence, which builds to an explosive conclusion. Though not original, the story's premise is solid. I had a hard time understanding the characters. They were not sufficiently developed to lend the plot a modicum of plausibility.
