Take a legendary guy with his life experience, his perversions and his alcoholic state and give him the only medium available that can distill him, and you have genius. Perverse and depraved genius.

Campiness wears thin

I guess what I like best is Wood's irrepressible optimism. But his films really help his story telling, as off beat as it may be, compared to his written stories. I wanted to like it better but it's all over the place.
