Publisher's summary

Jane Yellowrock is a shape-shifting skinwalker who always takes care of her own - no matter the cost....

When Evan Trueblood blows into town looking for his wife, Molly, he’s convinced that she came to see her best friend, Jane. But it seems like the witch made it to New Orleans and then disappeared without a trace.

Jane is ready to do whatever it takes to find her friend. Her desperate search leads her deep into a web of black magic and betrayal and into the dark history between vampires and witches. But the closer she draws to Molly, the closer she draws to a new enemy - one who is stranger and more powerful than any she has ever faced.

How does FH do it?

This series is one of my favorites, but most series run out of steam by the time they get to book 7. Not so with Jane Yellowrock. Every book is better than the last, and I enjoy reading them over and over.

Thank you Faith Hunter, for hours and hours of escape and entertainment. I'm proud to say I'm a big fan.

chilln in WI.

What made the experience of listening to Black Arts the most enjoyable?

the narrator and her ability to perform a variety of voices for the variety of charactors.

What did you like best about this story?

the setting, the tibits of history.

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

she's one of the best narrators Ive listened to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

the fact that there is no long periods of sexuallity trying to fill in the story.

Any additional comments?

sometimes the repeating of things gets boring. Having read books from 1-7certain things are constantly repeated, which I think is just to fill in, and it gets boring hearing them again and again which is why I give the story just a 4.

quality adventure

Where does Black Arts rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Towards the top end of the list of my favorites. Not without plot holes, but a good one. Engaging plot, impossible situations, love, heartbreak, and the introspection of a killer.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Black Arts?

Um, Jane and Beast have a discussion unlike any they have ever had. Jane realizes more about herself.

Which scene was your favorite?

The sparring scene was an interesting one. So was the gala scene where so much happened in a short time.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Jane killer only?

Any additional comments?

Perhaps it was me but I thought this book lacked a bit of the thoroughness/ continuity that her other books have. I plan on listening to the series again to clear up the plot questions I have.

It just keeps getting better

So while it has five stars it isn't favorite book ever or anything. At the same time I can't find anything wrong with this book. It is always a pleasure to see a world coming together like this. She clearly knows her characters and is creating a dynamic world for them to move through. She's toned down the romance novel feel and plays a lot more with the interpersonal aspects which I appreciate. The hooks are getting deeper with every book in this series. Teeny tiny spoiler alert: what does faith hunter have against bits-a?

BEST ONE TO DATE!!

Would you listen to Black Arts again? Why?

I will be listening to this a few more times. There are so many little things about Jane's past and role as SkinWalker / Warrior Women that takes a bit to catch.

What did you like best about this story?

Jane's acceptance of self and the information about her culture and role.

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

Can't beat Khristine Hvam's work, She always gives a great performance and not just a boring reading. Her voices and intonations really bring the characters to life.

Any additional comments?

These stories just keep getting better and better. I thought Blood Trade was the best until now. Now I cant decide which I like the most. I really like the way the plot lines intertwine seamlessly. All of Jane's character development really makes this book stand out.
