"Some Good info, some misunderstanding basis"

I really liked this book to start with, it has a lot of good fairly accurate info about life after death in it (based on what I know from reading dozens of books about life between lives and near death experiences), but is has a fatal flaw.

The flaw is, it was written by someone who has not yet cleared his mind from the stupid underlying paradigm given out by the various christian churches, who basically want you to fear a Lucifer or devil creature so you will run from him into their arms (and donate to their churches). Unfortunately the author has not risen quite high enough in his understanding to see that if there were a Lucifer, he would be doing God's Will, as there is nothing else he can do. Everything created is a part of God, so if there is a satan, he would also exist to do what God wants him to do, which may be to tempt us and to give us something to struggle against to strengthen ourselves.

But God is all love, so there cannot be any truly 'evil' forces at work, all hardships come to us to teach us lessons, there are no real and absolute dark forces or evil beings, only less evolved souls who have not yet learned and developed compassion for others. Other than this, he tells a good story and makes multiple important and interesting points.

    "A 'Christian' Cartoon"
What disappointed you about When the Student Is Ready the Master Will Appear?

I think even devout Christians - perhaps devout Christians especially - would find their intelligence insulted by this alleged "visit to Heaven" memoir, filled with the author's alleged adventures with a cartoon Jesus, a cartoon Satan, and a whole supporting cast of other cartoon characters which could have come straight out of Scooby Doo.

What could Jean Luc Lafitte have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He could have never written or read it.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

He has a listenable reading voice, especially given the loopy nature of his material.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No, none. As I alluded to before, listening to it insulted my intelligence. It would be very inferior even as a work of fiction (which I firmly believe this is).

    Any additional comments?

Regardless of your personal religious beliefs, stay away from this turkey.

This was the best experience so far in audio books; I have turned my busy time driving to work into a productive and soothing experience.

What did you like best about this story?

It felt like a conversation, like the author was sharing a story no necessary dragging me in or telling me. I felt engaged.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I have no favorites, I enjoyed it all.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Yes, chapter 31
