Clash of Civilizations
In 1978, Janet Tavakoli, a Christian of European heritage, born and raised in the United States, moved to Iran with her husband. Iran had a large class divide. The insecure Shah had grand ambitions. He headed a brutal dictatorship.
Islamic religious leaders fomented discontent.
Some Iranians were still outraged about the role of the United States in the overthrow of democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in the 1950's.
Smoldering embers were about to inflame an Islamic revolution.
The following year Tavakoli fled Iran and began her career as a globally renowned financial derivatives expert. In 1993, she was in the World Trade Center complex when terrorists detonated a bomb in the parking garage of the North Tower.
In September 2014, His Excellency Iyad bin Amin Madani, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), addressed the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Tavakoli asked why criminals from different countries and cultures band together in the name of Islam. Why do the highest levels of Islamic clergy authorize murder?
He dodged the question.
Unveiled Threat is her answer based on her personal experiences and study of the roots of terrorism.

You will learn quite a bit about the Iranian revolution and a bit of other hot topics in the Middle-East.
And the book is short; so there is no excuse for anyone in need of an introduction to the muslim world and way of life
An interesting read about Islam

Would you try another book from Janet M. Tavakoli and/or Diane Piron-Gelman?
No. The description of the book says, "heart-rending memoir". I was expecting personal experiences and instead got a recent history lesson.Would you ever listen to anything by Janet M. Tavakoli again?
No. I found the depth of material to be superficial.Would you be willing to try another one of Diane Piron-Gelman’s performances?
