Show Your Stuff

The stories of four military women and their lives in the past five years or so-- two Army and two Marines. The book outlines the courage, dedication and commitment required to balance a military career with a family and the expectations of society. I found some of the vignettes interesting and confirmed my opinions, e.g. the story of the French boss who ignored the needs of a female major who had been assaulted. I can't help but wonder why the author did not include examples from the Navy or the Air Force. Perhaps, the predominantly combat arms services provided better precedents for the author's themes? The book is; however, on the Air Force Chief's reading list, which is where I found it.

Good insightful book

While I really enjoyed this book & learning of these women, the narrator was a detractor for me. I was truly inspired & impressed by these women.

Better than expected

Based on the title and subject matter, even a “punt” on the topic should be a hit if for no other reason than it’s rarely given any attention. This is far from a punt. Very well researched and written.

The women profiled are amazing

I enjoyed reading about women in military service. I wasn’t in the military, so I learned a lot.

Still worth the read

Although the inclusion of females into all jobs within all branches of service has happened, hinted at in the book but not official yet when published, this book is still very relevant. The pride the females feel for being both service members and women is important in understanding why we do what we do.

Great book! A must read!

This is an inspiring story of courage, determination and strength of women in the military. The audio is enthusiastic and kept me enthralled. I would recommend it!

Relevant for veterans/ PTSD

I'm a male vet with PTSD. This is a great read, very relevant and detailed. It had a great story and kept my attention! Way to go on the research and displaying the hero's that these warrior women are!

Verrry interesssting…..

The book was by parts fascinating and mundane; I guess the narrative of any daily life would be so. I would be interested in knowing how the women were chosen for profiling. All in all, I definitely would listen to it again; I probably will, after a few months or so.
The narrator was very jarring at first, until I got used to her voice. With time, it got better, although that voice still hit me in the brain every now and again. The combination of drill sergeant and narrator voice was … well…. unique. (Ya gotta be there!)
