Faith building

What made the experience of listening to Tramp for the Lord the most enjoyable?

Being that it was a TRUE story it was inspiring , motivating and very faith building.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Corrie. Listening to how God moved in her life...how prayers were answered...and how "real" she was. It gave me a new spiritual excitement.

What does Nadia May bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved her accent. She sounded very much a part of the story I was listening to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All of it moved me!

Any additional comments?

Corrie' s missionary work is a great encouragement

I couldn't wait to listen to each chapter and finished it much faster than my usual Audible pace. What an amazing TRUE story. If you loved The Hiding Place, this is a must read that starts where The Hiding Place ends. Sooooo good!!

Unforgettable

I never cease to be blessed, inspired, and challenged by the life and ministry of Corrie ten Boom. She was (and is) a captivating, robust and profoundly earnest steward of the exceedingly Good News of Jesus Christ for the world. Her richest tools are devotion to Scripture and her realization—and then demonstration—of its potency and power in her own life. This personal narrative begins during her family’s World War II efforts to rescue Jews (The Hiding Place) and continues here during her decades of ceaseless international travel and ministry. She knows her life is a “gift of stories and moments and illustrations” that mysteriously and uniquely bear witness to the Bible’s ancient and continuing Truth. These anecdotal “postcards” are to be savored and many are unforgettable. This also is an outstanding reading of Tramp for the Lord. I’m very familiar with Corrie ten Boom’s speaking voice—and this I sometimes have to “work through” when hearing others portray her. But any disbelief—or rather “disconnect”—was suspended very quickly as Nadia May recites this text. Corrie’s personal trials, stumbles and victories as she travels across the globe truly come to life through May’s sensitive and vibrant performance. Her many accents and characterizations never distract or call attention to themselves—they only enhance. Tramp for the Lord is a thought-provoking, humorous, poignant and potentially life-changing little travelogue—not to be missed. As a followup, I also cannot recommend enough another book, The Five Silent Years of Corrie ten Boom, by Pamela Rosewell Moore. It truly offers, in ways I could never have imagined, the “rest of the story.”

Prepared to be absolutely encouraged and inspired!

I was looking for books read by Nadia May and saw this. A couple weeks later God was leading me to pray for deliverance from a particular sin. It wasn’t a constant sin but it was one that was terrible and destructive and getting worse over time. At the same time I was Reading the book by Andrew Murray called, With Christ In the school of prayer, and I came to the chapter about fasting. Which I absolutely dread. However, God lead me to fast and pray focusing on his will that I be delivered from this sin and that I trust in his strength by his Holy Spirit and his love for me. While working outside on the farm I decided to listen to this book during the two days of fasting. It was exactly what God wanted for me! I was so encouraged and inspired! After walking with Christ for almost 30 years I am in a new stage and understanding of what it truly means to be free because the Son has sent me free.
