The foundation for Mallett's historic time-travel work is Einstein's theory of general relativity, a sound platform for any physicist. Through his years of reading and studying Einstein, Mallett became a buff well before he had any notion of the importance of the grand old relativist's theories to his own career.
One interesting subtext to the story is Mallett's identification with, and keen interest in, Einstein. Mallett provides easy-to-understand explanations of the famous physicist's seminal work.

"Physicist Mallett's theory that "space and time can be manipulated" to make time travel possible has gained national media attention. His research and theories flow nicely through this easy-to-read autobiography." (Publishers Weekly)
I really enjoyed Dion Graham's beautiful narration of Time Traveler. Mallett's memoir is inspiring and I could understand his clear explanations of Einstein's theories that make time travel possible. I would recommend this audio book to anyone.
This is a capivating and moving memoir and there is no need for knowledge in physics to understand and enjoy this book. Couldn't put it down. Kept my interest throughout. The narrator was one of the best I've heard on Audible. I will definitely look into other books by Dion Graham, narrator.
Absolutely. Anything that transcends the boundaries between sci-fi and reality always thrills me.
There were no "characters" per se.
No. I took the time to listen in chunks so I could digest the content.
Let's face it, physicists don't always make their work interesting to the common person. In this case, Ronald Mallett provided a great story with compelling personal experiences to relate a mathematical breakthrough. It captured my imagination.
I loved this book. Dr. Mallett has become one of my favorite scientists. His personal story is incredible, and his love of the subject matter is palpable. This was a pleasure to listen to, and one I'll listen to again.
Damn, smooth, science.
His backstory. I found myself becoming far more interested in what made Ronald who he is, then the actual hard science itself.
Full of fascinating modern science broken down, and brought to life. Along side a beautiful life story of a man driven to rise above the odds by his dream. Just splendid.
If you are a light minded science fiction fan, then this book is not for you. This is a true story of real science mixed with biography of the author.
I enjoyed it very much and was touched by the strong motivation gained by personal tragedy. That is a big price to pay. I wish my kids had such a focused motivation, but without paying a big price. This was a very enlightening book.
I've been listening to audio books for well over twenty years (even before audible was available). Secretly, I wish I could be a narrator.
This book is an exciting trip to the past as Dr. Ronald Mallet, Ph.D. recounts his life story and his search to prove the possibility of time travel...to the past! Dr. Mallet's life story and explanation of his research to prove that time travel to the past is physically possible based on Einstein's General Theory of Relativity is both inspiring and compelling. You can watch Dr. Mallet explain his theory at a TEDx talk he gave in Vienna, Austria on October 22, 2016. Cut an paste this link to your browser to watch the 15 minute presentation:
This book is a complete joke. Although the author's personal story is touching, there's no trace to scientific approach to what the book's title suggests.
"Now I get it ?"
