As you listen to Through Painted Deserts, you'll soon realize this is not just one man's account of finding light, God, and beauty on the open road. Rather, it maps the journey you're already traveling...or soon will be.

"A reminder that life was meant to be lived, not just gotten through." (Publishers Weekly)
My only complaint about this book is that it's offered only in an abridged format... Miller writes wonderful prose and it's a shame that it's been cut down to fit this format.
Otherwise, though, it's a great book and was tough to put down. Narration by the author was great as well.

great story. i really like donald miller.. easy to relate to.. if i could id quit my job roll around the states in an rv and jot it all down.. great listen to escape from the grind..
I've read this book numerous times and it never ceases to amaze me. What Donald accomplished with linguistics in describing God in a practical and tangible way in unfathomable. I'm always left in awe.
It's amazing how many times this guy has to use analogies...his writing is tedious and one can really get the sense that this author is truly in love with his use of adjectives and flowery language
