eye opening account of the foster care experience

A must read for anyone working with or interested in the foster care system. Very hard on the heart at times, but impossible to put down. A true account from the perspective of the child in the system. I highly recommend especially to case managers, social workers, and foster families.

A must read.

I would highly recommend this book to foster parents, teachers social workers. To help in understanding a children's point of view. It takes a lot more then love to heal and trust after neglect suffered.

Inspiring!

Authors story is horrific but inspiring. Having worked within the child welfare system I can vouch for the horrors that are described. The author explains from the point of view of a child what it’s like to grow up as a foster child with beautiful accuracy. So glad there is a happy ending, she deserves it!

Amazing

What a book.
Great job Ashley!!!! I don’t normally read these kinds of stories, but it got me in the feelers. Finally a real understanding of a child’s life who goes through the system and what a disservice the system actually can be.

HEARTWRENCHING

This was an amazing story of an unbelievably brave little girl trying to make sense of a constantly changing world around her that hurts her, confuses her; and abandons her until she finds hope.
