Wish I could have known Sara Tuvel

What a powerful story of survival and recovery. I was completely captivated by both the story and the performance. I’ve read and seen so much about Nazi Germany and the death camps, but had not been exposed to the plight of the Jews in Transylvania. I’m so glad Sara’s story was told for all of us to read and hear.

shows you how much we can endure

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Oh I would definitely recommend this book. I was glued, so much she went through. She stayed through it and survived it.

What did you like best about this story?

The unbelievable strength, courage and endurance through long suffering of this young woman. Always doing whatever it took just to live, and helping others to also.

Which character – as performed by Wanda McCaddon – was your favorite?

The main character. The seamstress. She was amazing. Not only did she survive but through her unselfishness she always shared what little food she could get with her friends and family.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did not want to stop. Many nights I would fall asleep listening to it and have to back it up and listen to that part again the next day. Every chance I had I was back in it. Couldn't wait to hear more.

Any additional comments?

I believe every young lady should hear or read this novel. These days they just don't know what it's like to be unselfish and surviving through anything. It is also an excellent read for anyone young and old. I pray those days are long gone never to return in any form. Such heartlessness in the enemy. This was so sad how they could treat another human being.

Amazing find!

Upon the closing of this book I was left with the heartache of feeling like I had to say goodbye to a dear friend, Seren. The book is richly told and the people in it so alive you could be sitting across from them at your dining table. A must read for all.

Makes you stop and think!

What made the experience of listening to The Seamstress the most enjoyable?

Enjoyable? Hum, let's see, I enjoyed the story even though it was extremely sad and very hard to listen to at times but I wanted to heard every single word.

What other book might you compare The Seamstress to and why?

Anne Frank

Which character – as performed by Wanda McCaddon – was your favorite?

Sara

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes because we take things for granted. It makes us realize how very small our troubles are compared to those who lived through what Sara and all the others did and that anyone survived is amazing.

Any additional comments?

Great book, I'm so thankful it was written as I know there are people who deny this ever took place or that it was greatly exaggerated. It couldn't have been easy to relive this as she told her story.
