Fantastic Non-Fiction

I enjoyed the narrators ability to produce multiple voices. The true accounts were placed in sequential order to the best of the writer’s ability. Overall I enjoyed listening to the accounts of Ed and Lorraines lifework.

Honest look at the paranormal

Ed and Lorraine's techniques and procedures may seem unorthodox or outdated. However, the principles on which their methods are based, seem to be true and tested.

I could relate to the positive message of the book. It is incredibly amazing as similar practices and techniques are used in my South Asian culture, half way around the world.

The book is not for entertainment purposes but rather for informative ones. If you were skeptical before listening to the book, you will probably be skeptical afterwards. But that little voice in your head, on the other hand, just received vital info which could be useful in case one finds himself in a paranormal situation.

God bless Ed and Lorraine for helping folks out from goodness of their hearts.

We need more people like them.

Stranger than Fiction and more frightening

Would you listen to The Demonologist again? Why?

Yes. The book balances between getting the reader to understand the down to earth grounded personalities of Ed and Lorraine Warren against the highly unusual and extremely dangerous work they did. There is a lot of detail missed in the first listen worth going back and hearing again.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Ed Warren as a lay person living in our time juxtaposed against a very real and very ancient religious battle between God and Satan. Ed and Lorraine are true heros going into rescue people they did not know.

What about Todd Haberkorn’s performance did you like?

Voice inflection and cadance

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

The most amazing tidbit to me was the affirmation of how truly the power of love and happiness can immunize people from potential demonic infestation. How Satan using despair to gain entry into someone's life.

Any additional comments?

This book is a very fact based documentary on the work of a well-known and highly respected couple.

Todd Haberkorn!

The voices Todd Haberkorn provided kept me on the edge of my seat. I look for his name when I buy audiobooks now. Good book, amazing narrative.

Thought provoking and well done

Would you listen to The Demonologist again? Why?

I would. I love nonfiction and history books and this has the same feel as those. This book definitely had the potential to be cheesy and literally unbelievable. Instead, the way the book was narrated and written made it clear that this was a factual telling of these people's experiences - despite the topic, it feels straight forward and no-nonsense. The lack of theatrics really makes you really consider what they are talking about and it's much harder to be dismissive of what they say regarding ghosts, demons, and bizarre phenomenon that most of us will (hopefully) never experience. I wouldn't say I found Jesus reading this book (there is a lot of talk about religion, but no attempt to convert anyone - just giving the facts as they see it), however it did persuade me that it might be a good idea to stay away from haunted houses and Ouiji boards.

What about Todd Haberkorn’s performance did you like?

I felt like I was listing to a documentary. The narrator did a good job distinguishing between the different voices without making it character-y, and helped contribute to the no-nonsense feel of the book.

If you could give The Demonologist a new subtitle, what would it be?

I think the one provided is right on the money.

listened to this 3 times in the last year.

I have a lo e hate relationship with this book and others like it involving Ed and Lorraine Warren. The book is fascinating and terrifying. I would not recommend listening at night or when you're alone. That being said I have listened 3 times in the last year. Still freaks me out. Great listen!

Fantastic book on a real and interesting subject

This book has to do with demonology and the most famous couple in the business. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this book and keep an open mind because often the world is more than what you are told in school and main stream media.

Great Listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because the info is accurate in regard to true exorcism. The narrator is very good.
It is not Hollywood.

What other book might you compare The Demonologist to and why?

Hostage to the Devil., because Malachi Martin was an exorcist and the five case studies presented were enough to make you lose sleep. You do not read it at night.

Which character – as performed by Todd Haberkorn – was your favorite?

Ed Warren was my favorite character. Very real.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

The most interesting tidbit is not a tidbit. The overall presentation and clarity left much to the imagination.

Any additional comments?

Please do an audio book for Hostage to the Devil.
