Gavin McInnes is more than just a rude lunatic who keeps getting beat up. He is an icon who personifies irreverence for an entire generation. This is his story, or, rather, stories - lots of them, and all gut-punchingly hilarious, from that first far reach into a girl's tight jeans to turning forty with a cataclysmic party.
In between you’ll hear about acid trips, threesomes, Nazi skinheads, his band Anal Chinook (Inuit for “warm wind”), Martians in northern Canada, throwing pedophiles in jail, dinner with the Clash, what happens when you crash Bill Maher's show wasted, and the true story of Vice magazine. A gifted writer and a born storyteller, McInnes has lived his life without apology. Learn from it.

I'm so glad Gavin narrated, it made the experience that much more enjoyable. You get to hear him talking in the various accents of the people in his life, mimicking bodily sound effects, and most important you can hear the authentic emotion in his voice as only the person who lived the events can truly express.
It definitely made me laugh, but its not all comedy, there are sentimental parts too.
Note that there is pornographic level detail in the stories and many of them involve drug use. If that doesn't scare you go ahead and get it. It's a interesting/crazy story of an interesting/crazy man with guaranteed laughs.
There is a line in this book that I had to rewind and replay five times I laughed so hard- "Great sex is like a girl's record collection- no Rush." If you don't get that joke, you won't get this book. If you do get it, then this is exactly the type of book for you. And I've never ever liked a book narrated by the author until I heard this one. Expertly done. Very entertaining and very funny.
Do a little research on Gavin before you purchase this book (he's very present on YouTube) and see if he's your cup of tea or not (ignore the politics, that's not what this book is about). His stories are great and narration even better and you will be laughing in public so be mindful of your dwellings lest you out yourself as a spectrum inhabitant in public. There are somber notes in-between the hilarity as well as some non-sequitor parts that seem to only connect chronologically. That being said this art isn't meant to have holes poked through it. It's genuine and a bargain for the entertainment utils provided.
I have never laughed harder than I have in this book. Especially at the stories of Gavin becoming nothing but a fuck boy and being anti-establishment. Especially at the story where he gave himself an std in his throat.
This book is exactly like what Gavin's life stories are like on his youtube videos or podcasts.
This book was non-stop laughter. It is also really disgusting in parts.
It's a book for dudes.
At first you may think that your listening to a middle aged ex drunk, doper, punk, smart ass, regale himself with stories of his wasted youth while sitting alone in a bar with an inattentive bar tender who is gently wiping off the condensation from the semi frozen mug half empty with cheep and flavorless beer that the author is "enjoying". Really, what you're hearing are examples of the kind of passion and audacity it takes to do anything worth talking about. The same fearless drive that aloud Gavin Mcinnes to have the stupid, irresponsible, dangerous, and, well, fun moments in his life is also, the same drive and tenacity that made him a millionaire family man with a ton of great stories and what seems to be a sea of endless friends. This book is more motivational than funny. Though, gut wrenchingly hilarious and emotional, this book is a source of inspiration for anyone afraid to fart in front of strangers and in need of a career and or life change.
Yes. Listen to Gavin on TGMS and Rebel among all the other things he's appeared on.
The gift of Gav.
Gavin always kills it. Having him narrate makes sense as he's the man who lived it. It's a tale that will put you right in the shoes of Gavin McInnes, just trying to poke blindly at the bees nest that is life.If you're a fan of any of his work- this audio book will easily entertain. With Gavin narrating and providing voices as well as extra insight in to the stories- this is the definitive way to experience this book.Prepare to laugh your ass off as you listen to Gav stumble though life as a young man in to adult hood. Well, stumble's an understatement. Only Gavin could have lived a life such as this. You honestly have to hear it to believe it.
there were maybe 3 or 4 chapters between 15 and 25 that were boring. talking about boring Hollywood business dealing and meetings and some boring encounters that seems unnecessary. over all a good read. I recommend it. I love listen to Gavin and it was so awesome to hear him narrate his own book. He even teared up!
In a heartbeat.
This story pulls no punches. The narration is consistently well done throughout.
I laughed until I cried more times than i can count.
