A provocative, lively deep dive into the meaning of America's first black president and first black presidency, from "one of the most graceful and lucid intellectuals writing on race and politics today" (Vanity Fair).

Not enough meat on them there bones. Dyson comes across more as a cheerleader than an objective author.
Not only ami proud to be Black, but just as proud to be American after hear such a profoundly heart given experience on the Presidency of Barak Hussein Obama. Thank you Michael Eric Dyson for this memorable experience of to date The Greatest President of these United States of America. I got emotional even after the third time as well as on the occasion of the Eulogy for The Pastor. God continue to Bless you, President Obama and his family and God Bless these United States of America!
was able to view the President more as a great leader and person. The writer was prolific in showing the good and the bad or a positive aspects and less positive aspects of the presidency
Informative and entertaining. Love the fact that the author Michael Eric Dyson is also the reader. Great read!!!!! 📕
This book tells of the plight of mixed race people who grapple with the biases around them. It clearly showed how the most powerful man in America could not comfortably be himself without fighting his mother and father; Truly AMAZING GRACE!!! God Bless America.
This book is recommended to all African leaders Being a Black leader means nothing to to a white man who feels entitled even when he's not qualified or deserve what the black man has by virtue of God's Grace or the blood, sweat and sometimes life
I will definitely be adding the physical book to my library to read and for reference. Lots of good information stated here as well as history on which I would like to find much more detail.
Mr. Dyson brilliantly navigates all of the praise, criticism , and complexity involved in this historic presidency and delivered as objective and informed a narrative as could have been imagined. Chapter 9 was one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
The book takes you on a journey into race and Obama presidency. A great read.
Weather you like President Obama or not, agree with his views or not, share his values or not, this is a summary of the first Black President and first Black Presidency if America! fascinating, at times emotional, and storing strong sentiment for and against. I salute Dyson for a great work.
