Fictional History with Common Facts Tied In

This book will be familiar to people that know about the history of Christmas. The author takes the historical facts and weaves them in with fictional characters to make a nice story. I highly recommend listening without the kids before sharing as the author gives some people from history immortality and that may not fit in with a child's knowledge of history. It certainly would be tough for a child to explain this story to his or her friends.

The story itself is entertaining and is a nice trip through history. If you like Christmas stories in general, this will make a nice addition to your collection.

Hearing the life story of a good saint

One of the sweetest tales I have heard about the man known as Santa clause, factoring in people from history makes it that much more fun and enjoyable a really wonderful experience for the mind being able to picture in my mind how each character looks. Makes me smile inteviewing it on my head thank you. Bring sight impaired is no fun so these stories mean a lot.

a nice idea

This is a nice idea for a holiday listen, Santa's evolution and development down through the years. In order for the story to work, however, one must accept the concept that Santa collects historical figures for his "merry band" of helpers. These helpers become Santa's toy makers and aid Santa in their distribution. These helpers also aid Santa with the completion of other points in history that new listeners will discover for themselves. The reader was a perfect choice, the production was top notch, however I couldn't make the previously mentioned leap to make to story work. Attila the Hun making toys in Santa's workshop??? No, I don't think so.

Warm and Seasonal

I listened to this book two years ago. It is for both adults and children. Other reviews say that the book is written for children. I disagree because I don't believe children will know the historical facts and figures in the story. It is actually for adults who once believed in Santa Claus. I believe the book gives the illusion that Santa is alive and well in a veil of truth and magic.

Favorite!!!! ❤❤❤

If you enjoy history and love Christmas, this book is for you! It is so much fun to hear "Santa" himself tell of his magical life while acknowledging all that has happened in the history of people! He includes historical figures- Atilla the Hun, Benjamin Franklin and Teddy Roosevelt, just to name a few. The narrator is excellent. I've loved this book for years! I'm so glad I chose to listen to it this time!

A Great Book...For A Great Holiday!

I love this book! I know it's fiction (sorry kids), but it almost makes you think it's real. It's got historical figures as Santa's helpers instead of elves, Santa and/or his "friends" involved in historical events, and best of all, it's read by Santa himself. It's all from his perspective! It's the first book I listen to when the Christmas Season rolls around each year. If you are looking for a Christmas audiobook, I would highly recommend it!
