I love this book! Regardless of your religion, or even if you are an atheist, you will benefit from the practical advice given by the Dali Lama. I'm going to start this book over and listen to it again right now.
It met my expectations. I am from Hindu background with some understanding of Buddhism. I have been reading spiritual texts and books for 15 years. I liked the book for its simple and direct message from Dalai Lama and cutler.
When one questions the many religious beliefs throughout the world, this reading provides understanding. No matter what your beliefs, being in a spiritual state always will provide comfort.
I loved this book from start to finish, lots of great advice and logic. "Our purpose on this planet is to help people and if you can't help them at least don't hurt them" one of my favorite quotes from the Dalai Lama
This book is very insightful, and a wonderful reflection on how to be happy and to put happiness out into the world.
I have previously read this book, but it was a nice way to revisit this book as an audio book. The pace of the reading was comfortable, and I was able to follow along comfortably, while working at the same time.
The clarity of thought and purpose is exceptional. It provides insight into our purpose for being that is truly enlightened. I listen to regularly in an effort to incorporate it concepts into my daily life.

I enjoyed the palpable compassion you could feel from the words from the book. You could tell the author was deeply influenced by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. You can tell that His Holiness is one of the most compassionate yet gently charismatic people alive today. It is also enjoyable to know that you can apply these principles not matter your personal worldview on religion or "higher power."
I enjoyed a particular story where the author witnessed His Holiness quietly approach a nervous looking man in a crowd of many and focus solely on him for a few minutes. At the end of the conversation, the nervous man was visibly lightened.
I really enjoyed this book. I have an admiration for the Dalai Lama after reading the book.
He talks so slow. I put the speed to 2x and it still could have gone a little faster for me.
I loved his ideas on accepting stress and problems as part of life.
Here H.H. the Dalai Lama goes through Buddhism and how to use it can be used to defeat our anxiety, anger or even an ordinary bad mood. He tells stories to relate how this has been done by ordinary people every day. He also goes into why spirituality is important in our lives and why its not. He goes through how to find happiness and get through pain by seeing through it. Anyone who has kids that have watched Avatar: the last airbender knows this lesson. Pain is what tells us when something is wrong in our bodies and our lives. We should listen to it to deal with it and release it. As a long time meditation practitioner I found the information very informative.
