Having been through twice I have found this to be one of my favourites. This book can be picked up at any point and flows from then on. So does not need to be followed intently. Which was nice as I was listening to it while working on something else. The narration is monotonous but works very well for this type of book.
The whole concept of fearlessness is not wholly focused on 50 (his whole story is compelling aswell) but looks into many great historical figures and their use of it. From fear of taking what you want, to fearing death, it is all in there. The 50th Law was a hit with me because I could relate to the fearlessness approach. If you do too, then this will help you to push it even further. Also, if you are a fearful type this read may help you to break away that little bit more. Either way, just experiment with it for fun.
Wow, this was an amazing book! It gave me many insights as to how one can step up to challenges faced in the worst situations and make it a way of life. I definitely need to keep rereading it so that all the points can sink into my brain .
Very good audio book. Greene's voice is at first annoying, but you get used to it the anecdotes, story's and philosophical references really inspire.
I wish there were more audio books like this
A reality check of a book, with learning points on dealing with others and the conflicting emotions surrounding our actions and the interpretation of others actions. Well written and well read.
Okay, I am wondering if maybe I'm being a bit of a sucker here - there are some valid arguments for slating this book - taking itself a bit too seriously, lacking humour, dubious connections to and input from 50 Cent - but nevertheless I found this fascinating. The ideas are so true - people tend to respect those who have no fear and can face people down; it is vital to be able to walk away from any deal you are not happy with; 50 Cent probably really did learn a lot of the "laws of power" on the street, and these are explained well here. The fault is in the slightly jumbled-up-ness of the book - Robert Greene's The 48 Laws of Power is slightly more focused - but given that I have played this through a few times, it rates as one of my favourites.
It's ok, but if you've read Robert Greenes other books, such as power or strategies of war then you don't really need to read this one. But if this is the first time exploring any of his books, or you are a fan of 50 cent and want to learn more about his life it's a good listen.
Totally not what I expected. An enjoyable, incitefull and interesting read. I would definitely recommend it.
"One Of Greene's Best"
I love Greene's writing, and I gained a new found respect for Curtis Jackson. This book should be listened to by all who care about self-development.
"could have been half the length."
This book is insightful but signing up to all the philosophies would be huge mistake.
There is more to life than getting ahead at any cost.
This book could have been significantly edited down too.
AMAZING information! Loved it from start to finish. I REALLY recommend it! - EYE RICC (irich)
Thank you for this!
"A good listen"
This was a great book with some good insights from 50 Cent. It was slightly odd however listening to a detached narration and it also had an abrupt ending. However overall I quite liked it.
Great to see how the lessons learnt from a street hustler can relate to normal everyday life. Teaches you what sort on mindset is necessary to achieve power and success.
