If you could sum up Sinner in three words, what would they be?

    Sin, Repent, Repeat

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    meh. okay. on we go.

What three words best describe Lino Rulli’s performance?

Just like listening to him on the radio...good guy...but why does someone with a speach impediment make a living on the radio?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no, it was not that captivating

    Any additional comments?

I like this guy on the radio, but got a little tired of him everyday during my commute.

"Whaddaya know - a funny Catholic"

I subcribe to a lot of Catholic radio podcasts. I often get tired of questions by the uptight members of the flock about whether we should hold hands at Mass or take the Host in the palm of the hand. Since I don't get satellite radio, this was the first time I had come across this "Catholic Guy." His brutal, self-effacing comedy is music to my Gen-X ears. I recognize it's not for everyone, but if you have a devotion to the Holy Sacrament, AND also enjoy what my wife calls "boy humor", try Sinner. Also, the bonus "commentary" at the end of each chapter with Fr. Rob is hilarious.

    "Self-Depricating humor at its best"

Great way for Lino Rulli to take his daily radio show and bring his humor to the "reading" public. Not all of us get Catholic Radio on satellite radio where Lino has made his mark. Lino does a great job of mixing his personal stories up with humor and developing a Catholic Christian message.

I did not like the actual priest that inserts himself in the audio book at the end of each chapter. Could have left that out.

Lino performs this book himself and does a great job.

    "Kept Me Entertained"

Very funny and well-performed. Perfect listening during my commute. It was not as much a book on religious insights, as it was an autobiography and Lino's sharing of his experiences, dilemmas and reflections on them.

The book rang true and I could relate to a lot of the anecdotes. I am sure a lot of other people can as well.

    "Just OK"

The book was just ok. I admit that I thought it was going to be more funny rather than instructional. The content wasn't bad from a Catholics point of view, which I have. However the book itself as far as being entertaining wasn't very good. Fr. Rulli has a sidekick come in, I think from a radio show that they do together, and there isn't as much chemistry as what they would like. In fact at times the partner's, also a catholic priest, contribution was more mean than poking fun. I love the male type of banter where we poke and poke at each other, but because of the lack of chemistry, it just comes across bad.

Like I said I was able to get something out of the book from Fr. Rulli's anecdotes and lessons. So it was by no means a loss. It just wasn't that funny. I do however like the fact that he brought lessons out from a "less than Holier than thou" life. Which is good for us who are also less than "Perfect" Catholics to relate to and learn. For that I thank Fr. Rulli.

    "Credit wasted!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If it had been funny. There were very few things that even got half a smile. In all fairness though, I didn't finish it - I couldn't, it was just bad.

What was most disappointing about Lino Rulli’s story?

It wasn't funny. Not even mildly amusing.

What three words best describe Lino Rulli’s performance?

    It was fine.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

My Aunt liked it - but then she was on some strong pain medicine.

    Any additional comments?
