Publisher's summary

Superman. Diesel. The Big Aristotle. Shaq Fu. The Big Daddy. The Big Shaqtus. Wilt Chamberneezy. The Real Deal. The Big Shamrock. Shaq. You know him by any number of names, and chances are you know all about his legendary basketball career: Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal is a four-time NBA champion and a three-time NBA Finals MVP. After being an All-American at Louisiana State University, he was the overall number one draft pick in the NBA in 1992.

In his 19-year career, Shaq racked up 28,596 career points (including 5,935 free throws!), 13,099 rebounds, 3,026 assists, 2,732 blocks, and 15 All-Star appearances. These are statistics that are almost as massive as the man himself. His presence - both physically and psychologically - made him a dominant force in the game for two decades. But if you follow the game, you also know that there's a lot more to Shaquille O'Neal than just basketball. Shaq is famous for his playful, and at times, provocative personality. He is, literally, outsize in both scale and persona.

Whether rapping on any of his five albums, challenging celebrities on his hit television show Shaq Vs., studying for his PhD or serving as a reserve police officer, there's no question that Shaq has led a unique and multi-dimensional life. And in this rollicking new autobiography, Shaq discusses his remarkable journey, including his candid thoughts on teammates and coaches like Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Phil Jackson, and Pat Riley.

From growing up in difficult circumstances and getting cut from his high school basketball team to his larger-than-life basketball career, Shaq lays it all out in Shaq Uncut: My Story.

Shaq Tells the whole story about him and Kobe

What made the experience of listening to Shaq Uncut the most enjoyable?

Shaq gave the real inside story of life in the NBA, it was very funny, witty, and he pulled no punches. Any sports fan is going to love how he aspired to be a superstar athlete, rapper and entertainer. I couldn't put it down .

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shaq Uncut?

The real inside story of what happened to sour the relationship between him and Kobe.

Have you listened to any of Dion Graham’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first time, but i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed thru most of it and his relationship with his foster father was very sentimental. His real father didn't care to be a part of his life until after he had made it big.

call it 'entertaining', not interesting..

Where does Shaq Uncut rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

like my title says, its an entertaining book to listen to. good enough to bridge gaps, and if your a big basketball fan like i am then its a great listen.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

his last/current relationship is a total non-factor in the entire story. i see no place for it aside to validate his happiness now after his divorce..

What does Dion Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

dion graham does a very good shaq impersonation the entire length of the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

i listened to this book in 3 sittings, although i can't call them sittings because i listened while working. it is easy listening for sure but i'm not one for an activity that last that long.

Any additional comments?

entertaining but not interesting, just as the man SHAQ is. any basketball fan or laker fan would enjoy.

The story... And the narrator!

I loved this book way more than I thought I would. But special shout out to the narrator. I usually HATE autobiographies not narrated by the author. This guy was AMAZING. I felt like he brought the essence of Shaq. 11/10 he was the best man to read this book. Maybe better than Shaq himself!! Lol

A side of Shaq that you didn't know

Where does Shaq Uncut rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I normally enjoy sports audiobooks and this one didn't disappoint.

What other book might you compare Shaq Uncut to and why?

This book reminded me a bit of Andre Agassi's autobiography, Open. Shaq gives an honest opinion of people he's encountered, played with and played against throughout his career. Agassi did the same.

Have you listened to any of Dion Graham’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Dion Graham gives an excellent performance. I had heard him read

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I looked forward to my commute each morning and afternoon to listen to Shaq tell his story.

Any additional comments?

I am a casual basketball fan and was never a big fan of Shaq until I saw his reality show, Shaq Versus. I learned a lot about him and I am impressed at how multifaceted he is. I had no idea that he is a policeman, or that he has his MBA and is working toward his Ph.D. I have gained a newfound respect for Shaq and I won't be surprised if he continues to do great things in the basketball and business communities even though he has retired.
