Publisher's summary

For the first time, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor speaks directly to his fans and shares his worldview about life as a sinner. And Taylor knows how to sin. As a small-town hero in the early '90s, he threw himself into a fierce-drinking, drug-abusing, hard-loving, live-for-the-moment life. Soon Taylor's music exploded, and he found himself rich, wanted, and on the road.

His new and ever-more-extreme lifestyle had an unexpected effect, however; for the first time, he began to actively think about what it meant to sin and whether sinning could - or should - be recast in a different light. Seven Deadly Sins is Taylor's personal story, but it's also a larger discussion of what it means to be seen as either a "good" person or a "bad" one. Yes, Corey Taylor has broken the law and hurt people, but, if sin is what makes us human, how wrong can it be?

Critic reviews

"Fans of the heavy metal band Slipknot will eagerly devour its lead singer/songwriter Taylor's first book, which displays a prose that perfectly captures the supercharged energy, aggression, and outrageousness of Slipknot's music.... Powerful and moving." ( Publishers Weekly)

Taylor is a good author, and good narrator

this was a good book. I didn't super care for the first couple chapters, but it really picked up after that. I was expecting it to be more of a biography. but it's really how Taylor relates each sin to his history and experiences. I am a huge slipknot fan so that is what brought me into the book, his writing and narration is what kept me there.

Fantastic

I’ve had the same idea(s) as Corey most of my life and hearing his velvety voice tell his tales and opinions were seriously a breath of fresh air. I’ve always respected him as a person and as a musician, and I do even more. Highly recommended for anyone looking to set their troubled mind at ease.

The great big mouth has a talent for writing books

I was very entertained threw this whole book. The fact that Corey does his own narration is awesome! I really enjoyed all of his books so far. I can't wait to hear his next book that is coming out soon!

Brilliant

Slightly verbose, reminiscent of a Kevin Smith movie. Both things I enjoy though! I always love when books are read by the author and this was no exception. Highly entertaining and a phenomenal story. I'll definitely be looking into his other books.

100 % awesome book !

Corey Taylor is just plain great ! Corey and I are both the same age and I have looked up to him for years, as a phenomenal musician. beyond talented ! and now as a author. (I just strated reading his books) I sweat listening to this book described everything about myself and my personal beliefs. I really wish he would publish a book based on slipknot's rise to the top.

Inspiring and real

Fantastic stories that make you scratch your head and ask yourself deep questions. Corey speaks from a relatable place that has personally inspired me. He may be a little crazy, but if you keep an open mind the man makes valid points. I enjoyed his personal stories and his suggestion on what the real deadly sins SHOULD be. Well done.
