Here is the amazing true story of an out-of-control rock star, his devastating addiction to drugs, and his miraculous redemption through Jesus Christ.
In February 2005, more than 10,000 people in Bakersfield, California, watched as Brian “Head” Welch—the former lead guitarist of the controversial rock band Korn—was saved by Jesus Christ. The event set off a media frenzy as observers from around the world sought to understand what led this rock star out of the darkness and into the light.
Now, in this courageous memoir, Head talks for the first time about his shocking embrace of God and the tumultuous decade that led him into the arms of Jesus Christ. Offering a backstage pass to his time with Korn, Head tells the inside story of his years in the band and explains how his rock-star lifestyle resulted in an all-consuming addiction to methamphetamine. Writing openly about the tour bus mayhem of Ozzfest and the Family Values Tour, he provides a candid look at how the routine of recording, traveling, and partying placed him in a cycle of addiction that he could not break on his own.
Speaking honestly about his addiction, Head details his struggles with the drug that ultimately led him to seek a higher power. Despite his numerous attempts to free himself from meth, nothing—not even the birth of his daughter—could spur him to kick it for good. Here Head addresses how, with the help of God, he emerged from his dangerous lifestyle and found a path that was not only right for his daughter, but was right for him.
Discussing the chaotic end to his time in Korn and how his newfound faith has influenced his relationship with his daughter, his life, and his music, Head describes the challenging but rewarding events of previous years, exposing the truth about how his moments of doubt and his hardships have only deepened his faith.
Candid, compelling, and inspirational, Save Me from Myself is a rock ’n’ roll journey unlike any other.

Just another recovering drug addict Clean by the grace of God. Living with one leg & Cirrhosis of the Liver, waiting on a transplant.
Excellent account of an addict finding their way out of the hopeless and nothingness of addiction. Not your "conventional" recovery story. Well worth reading.
Great book! Must read! Brian lets us into his 'head' :) and shows how empty a life of fame and money can be without a real purpose or reason for living. Thanks for being willing to write this and share your story, Brian! Loved it.
Filmmaker and artist in Los Angeles.
I love biographies that don't hold back or try to show off. Brian Welch is honest and doesn't share is past in a flower covered way. He shares explicit content honestly and doesn't censor it which I think is very important. He also explains his renewed life as a Christian and the struggles, misunderstandings and mistakes he has made through it.
No, I didn't react extremely but I felt very glad that he wrote this book and I wish him the best in his future.
This book is truly a tell-all book, just not about Korn. Brian Welch tells all about what it was like living as an addicted rock star. I found it was quite interesting. This dude was a long long time drug user with a major adiction and kicked it without the help of rehab, but rather with a lot of prayer. He brings out all of his skeletons and fesses up to more than just the drug addiction. I thought it was pretty cool to see a guy so famous become so transparant. He also talks through how it took him years to really grow as a christian and understand God's love, and to be able to forgive people he hated, and ask forgiveness from those he wronged. Parts of the book are almost a confessional and I can see how it was probably therapuetic writing for Welch. There is a point in the book where he writes about being an new christian that was on fire big time, with tons of money to back it up. But as the book continues you can see how he grew as a christian over the past years since quitting Korn.
It may be something very different than what you would normally listen to, but I would definitely recommend it. It is not that long and I did not find any parts of it boring, nor did I find myself yelling at my iphone "get on with the story already!" like I often do with the 30 hour fiction books.
My ego and pride has deterred me so many time from Jesus. My understanding of new age and occult knowledge was leading me down a bad path but I thought i understood more than Chtistians. I truly believed Christians were blind to the way things really were. Brian, your story literally changed my life and pointed me to Christ. I listened to your story because i related to you and what you had been threw and now I am beginning my own journey, not just with God but also with Christ.
NUMBER # 1 !!!!

FROM DEATH To LIGHT

It could be life changing! Whether you listen to heavy metal or country, life change can be experienced, check it out!
When God saved him!
He did great the entire book!
Kinda interesting then it's exactly what you'd expect it to be "God does this" and "I love God." Good for him, and I wish Christians well but faith isn't entertaining to me. All the best.
As human beings, we tend to make harsh judgments against others in order to feel better about ourselves. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter whether you are a Christian or not, whatever helps you to overcome the self-destructive habits in your life can only be a good thing. I can't really identify personally with a lot of what Brian went through in his story, I've never been a drug addict or a rockstar or insanely wealthy, nor have I been around anyone who was. I'd like to believe that I would've made different choices if I'd been in his position, but the truth is that none of us can really know what we will do in any given situation until it happens. I have a somewhat different perspective on religion, but if that's what helps you turn your life around for the better then I can only offer praise and admiration. I hope Brian continues to inspire, and to lead others toward a better path by his example
This book really reflected my own path to Christ - but through the walk of a rockstar living the craziest life. It is a great read for anyone who wants to find their own path.
