Finally, as member of ST6, he graduated from the most storied and challenging sniper program in the country: the Marine Corps Scout Sniper School. Eventually, of the 18 snipers in ST6, Wasdin became the best—which meant one of the best snipers on the planet.

Less than half a year after sniper school, he was fighting for his life. The mission: capture or kill Somalian warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. From rooftops, helicopters, and alleys, Wasdin hunted Aidid and killed his men whenever possible. But everything went quickly to hell when his small band of soldiers found themselves fighting for their lives, cut off from help and desperately trying to rescue downed comrades during a routine mission. The Battle of Mogadishu, as it became known, left 18 American soldiers dead and 73 wounded. Howard Wasdin had both of his legs nearly blown off while engaging the enemy. His explosive combat tales and inside details of becoming one of the world’s deadliest snipers combine to make this the most thrilling and important memoir by a navy SEAL since Lone Survivor.

This book should be read to ALL students in high school. And to ALL who may not agree with military tactics. It is very eye opening to the freedom and survival of our nation as well as teaching compassion to those that do not wear the Red White and Blue. We should always have compassion and understanding no matter the circumstance.

Average story teller

I’ve read or listened to many similar type books over the years The story telling is just average. I found myself a little bored at times. Having seen Blackhawk down I expected much more detail. Most similar books I can put myself in the story and feel like I’m there. I didn’t get that sense with this book although I appreciate his service and am thankful for it.

Amazing book I highly recommend

Another awesome seal book. I think this was my fifth. I recommend any book by a seal. Also I must say when it comes to narrating military books I don’t think anyone does it better than ray porter. If you haven’t listened to “house to house” definitely give it a listen you won’t regret it.

Outstanding Listen

The author delivers an enthralling and captivating history of his experience as a member of the US Navy SEALs. This gentleman, one badass mother, is somehow able to maintain humility in tone while sharing his experience. The narrator also gave a very good rendition.

Excellent non-fiction SEAL Team Six book!

If you want to understand what SEAL training is like, this is the best book I have found. The book covers some sniper action as well as training. Outstanding non-fiction well narrated.

I like the way the author goes back and forth between different stages of his life (e.g. SEAL training then childhood then war then back to SEAL training, etc.). He ties all those different things together really well so that they build on each other.

I waa listening to the story when my husband came in. He sat down and both of us were rivited to the story for hours. Narrator us superb! Heartbreaking beginning. Inspiring how he turned his difficulties into victories in his career! Thank you for your service !!❤
