As celebrated cook and champion of the countryside, Clarissa recalls episodes from her life and describes her encounters with everyone from local farmers to Women's Institutes, supermarket managers to greyhound coursers. A lover of local traditions, she has attended events from the Whitstable Oyster Festival to the Hungerford Hochtide. In a world of political correctness, Rifling Through My Drawers is a breath of fresh air and proves once again why Clarissa is one of the nation's true treasures.

I had high hopes for this book having loved her book "Spilling the beans" which I strongly recommend. I found this book to be boring and rambling in parts. It was disjointed, far too self indulgently preaching about country sports and a huge disappointment to me. Choose something else!
"Classy , refreshing and full of wit"
Yes , it makes your heart fly to hear eloquent language used so deftly.
A postillion struck my lightening.
Because again deftly witty writing
From start to end
I did , at the second listening three days later
