Required reading for any financial advisor.

I wish I had read this book early in my career as a financial advisor. If you are in the industry, don't wait. You will gain insight that you will otherwise have to learn through your own painful mistakes.
Even though the book is almost 100 years old, there are plenty of modern day parallels.

Good book

Some things never change—-you see people on CNBC every day doing the same things Livingston did— they’ve just had to adapt their style to keep the regulators satisfied

Entertaining, insightful & educational

Had this one in my list for a while and the length of it made me think it would be too long to enjoy. Indeed it is long, however its super informative and filled with great stories that provides the aspiring trader with traps to watch out for and market patterns. Nonetheless i loved it. Will likely listen to it again.

All these experiences that are recorded in the book have great lessons for not only those who like to trade/speculate in the market but also for investors.

Buy this stock!

Although most of the stock manipulations described in Reminiscences are now illegal, the stories in this book are really fascinating. The author was a trader in the days when the Big Board was just that: a big chalk board with clerks running around writing in share prices. Still, this is a fascinating read, and you don't have to be a subscriber to Investors Business Daily to enjoy this. He begins in bucket shops before the turn of the last century, takes you through the Panic of 1907 and goes up to the 1929 crash. The observations of the author, who made and lost fortunes, are relevant to anybody who confronts risk on a daily basis. The narration is very clear, very well done.

AMAZING. A CLASSIC THAT WILL HOLD YOUR BREATH

Where does Reminiscences of a Stock Operator rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

You feel Livingstone's emotions ! Breathtaking narrative. Although it shows pit reality (not comom today), the emotions that who have already taken a heavy futures position are very similar to author's narrative.
