Born Rita Rizzo in Canton, Ohio, Mother Angelica was abandoned by her father and raised in poverty by a mother who suffered suicidal depressions. Awakened to the power of prayer, at age 21 Rita vowed to dedicate her life to God and become a cloistered nun. She expected to spend her life hidden from the world. But Rita's faith compelled her to unlikely endeavors, accomplishing what the highest echelon of the Catholic Church could not.
This engrossing biography traces Mother Angelica's tortured rise to success and exposes for the first time the fierce opposition she faced, inside and outside of her church. It is an inspiring story of survival and proof that one woman's faith can move more than mountains.

I love every word of this enlightening, wonderful, touching book. You enter it not knowing how much you will fall in love with Mother Angelica & Our Lord & their beautiful relationship- it's life changing & I'll read it over & over. It has given me a deeper faith & closeness to God & to see Our Lord in a different light. this book is AMAZING in every way - the subject - the writer & the way it is read to us - just love everything about it‼️‼️
Yes, it really brings out why my Grandma always loved and talked about Mother Angelica!
No, I was taken back by Mr. Arroyo's impersonation of Mother Angelica at first, but after a few mins I started to see it as Mother Angelica herself. It was great!
Great job doing all your research, what a great story and what an amazing life of Mother Angelica. It just shows when you trust in our Lord and take the first step what can happen!
This is an amazing book about an amazing woman. I've watched the TV station but had no idea of how it got started. Raymond Arroyo is a very good reader and wonderful at imitating voices (both male and female). I highly recommend this one!
