Publisher's summary

If you thought Tinseltown was tough...

Tori Spelling might have grown up with everything a girl could wish for, but these days she's just another suburban working mom...whose toddler regularly recognizes her in the pages of Us Weekly.. Welcome to Mommywood, where the stars are two feet tall and your neighbors know who you are before you move in.

Like most parents, Tori wants her children to have the one thing she didn't have as a kid -- a normal family. On their hit Oxygen reality show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, the starlet and her husband Dean McDermott regularly wrestle dirty diapers, host the neighborhood block party, and tackle temper tantrums on the red carpet. But when the cameras aren't rolling, Tori's still having awkward run-ins with a former 90210 costar at a laser tag birthday party, scooping rogue poo out of the kiddie pool on a resort vacation, and racing to win back her pre-baby body before the media starts calling her fat. For all her suburban fantasies, Tori Spelling is no June Cleaver.

With the same down-to-earth wit that made her entertaining memoir sTORI telling a #1 New York Times best-seller, Tori tells the hilarious and humbling stories of life as a mom in the limelight. From learning to be the kind of parent her own mother never was to revealing what it's like to raise a family while everyone is watching, Mommywood is an irresistible snapshot of celebrity parenthood that you won't get from the paparazzi.

Entertaining, again…

Any additional comments?

I don't know what it is about Tori spelling, but for me she can definitely write an interesting book that is super easy to want to get through. I haven't read her books in order … And in this books case I am not a mom, but I still found it funny and a good read. If you're fan of her other books, you'll like it either way.

Must Have For Tori Spelling Fans

If you are a Tori Spelling fan this is a must have audiobook. I absolutely love her and the fact that she is brutally honest and not afraid to be herself. The fact that she narrates her own story just makes it that much better.

As good as her first

Again, I cannot believe how much I loved listening to a book by Tori Spelling, lol. But, I really loved the whole thing.

Still love Tori.

Fun to listen to. She does a good job. I'd really like to see her write something of real substance. I don't mean her biography lacks substance -- it's just that she has such writing talent that she could do some real good in the world.

She is the kind of person you'd want to be a friend of yours, a pal.

Tori is like comfort food to me lol.

If you could sum up Mommywood in three words, what would they be?

Funny, cute and inoffensive

What did you like best about this story?

I just like Tori! I strangely share a lot of the exact same worries and fears she describes and I appreciate her quirky, fun personality. She's definitely not a snob no matter how she grew up and she seems down to earth.

What about Tori Spelling’s performance did you like?

She's just a natural when it comes to audio books in my opinion. She has good pace, inflection and annunciation. It keeps the stories flowing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Sure.

Any additional comments?

If you're seeking something completely innocuous but still fun, you'll like this book.

Really enjoyed this book.

If you are at all a fan of Tori Spelling then you should enjoy both her books Stori Telling and Mommywood. Gives you a small glimpse into the life of a celebrity and reinforces that age old saying money doesn't buy happiness (or the love of your own mother apparently).
Narrated by the author it was an entertaining way to waste 6 hours.

Cute and interesting

I didn't expect to enjoy this book, but I really did! Tori is very upbeat and suprisingly real in this take on her life as a mother. I've never watched her show, but if I catch it on now, I actually might. I had a couple of good laughs and enjoyed the ride.

Tori is the best narrator!

As a 90210 mega-fan and new mama, I *knew* I had to get this book, and I’m so glad that I decided to get it on Audible! It’s so fun listening to Tori tell her stories—her narration is perfect! The book focuses almost entirely on motherhood and it can be a bit random/unfocused at times, but it’s the ideal junk-food listen. Love it!
