I +1 Books.
Richard was always my inspiration. I started a business a few months ago and decided to read/listen (finally) his book. I love it.
Amazing stories from his childhood, first business, becoming a businessman, starting a Virgin group. And what is more important more advices from Richard. How to build, how to scale, how to have fun.
What is THE most important. Richard reads this book. He smiles when reads about funny moments, he's sad when he read about sad moments (like story about Iraq).
Short, great read, much value for your entrepreneurs.
I grew up admiring Richard Branson and reading this makes me understand his vitality and drive. I really enjoyed listening to him read the book in particular as you could tell at points he was getting emotional. Now I just need to find another book just as good!
I listened to this book from start to finish in an evening. I've never done that before, Branson's book was just so captivating, authentic, and inspiring - I just had to finish it. Likely the best business book I've heard or read.
It is written nicely, however if you already know the guy and his past you won't find much surprise. On the other hand, if you would like to know how he became who he is. This is the book for you.
"Inspiring, thrilling, excellent"
Loved it all, great read for anyone with a business mind. Richard is a truly inspiring gentleman.
Very inspiring, I particularly enjoyed hearing Branson's stories about overcoming obstacles by remaining solution focused and always finding a way forwards.
Great story told amazingly by Richard Branson.so well read by him and the story unique
"Interesting, light entertainment"
Not so much information about the business aspects of running Virgin as anecdotes of the life as Virgin's leader. Interesting, light entertainment.
"Love the way Richard Branson has narrated it"
It just feels like Richard Branson is personally talking to you!
A great book by a great man. Must read
Best book I have ever come across! Didn't want it to finish. Richard Branson is now my new mentor.
"Review of Richard Branson's autobiography"
Few things to learn about marketing and reputation. His attitude towards business and towards people comes through - amazing positivity at all times and he seems to be very honest in his approach.
His predisposition towards action and the joy he gets from his work (as opposed to time on a beach for example) explains his success.
I found myself wanting more though. More scope, it seems small parts have been focussed on and other parts fast forwarded. The final chapter read a bit like an essay conclusion.
An awe inspiring inspirational book! I really Love the fact it's read by Richard Branson, it makes it very personal!
"What an incredible life!"
A humbling experience listening to such an extraordinary life. The honesty of Richard Branson I suspect is his most attractive quality. Branson tells many stories that are unflattering but which strike a cord with so many. There is also the experiences he has had. Close brushes with death, the death of a child, being arrested (rightfully) and being threatened by police (wrongfully). The list goes on. Such a full life for somebody to live and incredibly inspiring for those just starting too.
