Jimmy Carter began his career as a humble peanut farmer and eventually rose to the rank of President of the United States. Carter was instrumental in the release of the hostages in the Iranian Hostage Crisis and even won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in the Israel/Palestine peace process. Now, in this episode of Live at the 92nd Street Y, Carter speaks about his philanthropic work with Habitat for Humanity and his own career as an author. Carter's talk is endearing and intelligent, his Georgia drawl almost musical.

President Carter full of vim and vigor.
Here we have a humble former president addressing a live audience in regards to his successes and failures both in and out of office. The man seems to thrive on the very questions posed to him by an inquisitive audience. His spontaneous responses exude wit and a refreshing honesty and enthusiasm seldom found in a former world leader. An amazing American who gracefully puts his successor to shame.

Wonderful talk by President Jimmy Carter
This is a wonderful talk by President Jimmy Carter! Hearing President Carter talk at length is so fascinating to see his humor, humble nature and his great intellect! I highly recommend getting this on Audible. It’s not just a news bite, it’s an amazing look into President Carter!
