Publisher's summary

Among our greatest fears is the dread of what others would think of us "if they only knew" - the parts of our past we hope to forget, the parts of our present we work to conceal. Yet the part we actually do the best job of hiding is not the unsightly debris of our own mess, but rather the stunning beauty of God's grace. The fear that demands we protect this false image at all costs leads us to unwittingly declare a false gospel at every turn.

Jamie Ivey finally grew tired of doing that, tired of being too ashamed and insecure to let others see the full extent of what God was capable of doing with our unworthiness. So she quit hiding. She let him get praise for what she'd been pretending she didn't need.

What she found as a result is how a willingness to just open up and say the stuff that most people refuse to reveal about themselves gives others permission to join us in our transparency. And how the process of becoming real ignites an ongoing passion in us for living out our ongoing redemption, enabling us to more fully embrace not only our relationship with him but also with one another.

If You Only Knew is the utterly inviting, often humorous, incredibly authentic back-story of one woman's life, told for the purpose of helping you strip away both the inner and outward hypocrisy that cripples Christian freedom, choosing instead to live with courageous confidence in God's ability to make you truly one person. His.

Excellent Book!! A Must read!!

Jamie Ivey is an excellent communicator who shows true authenticity. I have never read a book where the writer is soooo real and vulnerable AND challenges the reader to be the same way. She shares what real friendship is all about and encourages you to have a community of believers around you to do life with. Thank you Jamie for your words of encouragement. I was truly honored to listen to your story. Thank you for being real and vulnerable. You truly are an amazing person!!

Seeing God’s Faithfulness

I feel as though Jamie was telling my story as she told hers~ not that every single experience was my own but that the Faithfulness of God won out! She authentically shows how fervently God pursues us. Such a blessing to listen to.

Must read

Jamie has written a book that every woman should read. Listening to the book in her own voice was so special. Her rawness to share her most vulnerable memories just to testify how good God is makes this book a great way to help others tear down some of the walls we all build to cover the darker parts of our lives. She always leads us back to the Grace and Mercy that await us when we allow God to move in our lives. If you are thinking of listening/reading this book I recommend you Absolutely do it! It will bless your life or maybe someone you know.

This is a must read!

Jamie dives in deep, telling her story and taking that first step in being 100% vulnerable. We all struggle and I almost promise you, everyone can relate to at least one piece of her story. You’ll leave feeling encouraged, inspired and that you too matter. Thank you Jamie for going first, sharing your heart and teaching us how to do the same. 💗

Wow.

As someone who has made mistakes and struggled not to feel like a failure, Jamie’s words helped me see that God’s love is still steady through it all. He doesn’t want for me to be shackled in shame. Jamie’s gentleness and vulnerability felt like a much needed hug and helped quiet the swirling thoughts. I closed the book at peace. I’m not the only one who messes up, and that doesn’t disqualify me from love.
