Short little book ... really no depth to the content, it's really more of Betty's recollections and thoughts and wisdom... but an enjoyable listen because there is no one like Betty White.
I really like Betty White. Her honesty and integrity are refreshing in a world where those things can be hard to find. She and I are also kindred spirits where animals are concerned. Those stories were the best part of this book for me, as I could totally relate to them. But there weren't many of those, and I found the book to be overall lacking in depth. I enjoyed listening to Betty read it, but I was a little disappointed. Still like & admire the author, though!
I am a writer and the author of six non-fiction books. I enjoy anything by John Grisham, Ann Rule and Jodi Piccoult. I also love animals.
I love Betty White and the fact that she read this book herself was a big selling point for me. She's a great lady and a great advocate for the animals, not to mention a pretty good actress as well. I enjoyed her stories of being an celebrity and being an actress, though I was a little disappointed not to hear some "war stories" about what it is really like to be a celebrity in Hollywood. I didn't expect any name-dropping, of course, just a little more insight into the life of a Hollywood star.
I've always been a big fan of Betty's, but it seems I'm getting to Love her even more as she continues on her life's journey. She is always funny, direct and up front. I like that about her. She reminds me of my beloved Nana who was from the same generation, and I find such a wealth of wisdom there delivered in ways easy to receive and understand. I eagerly look for any of the work she shares with us and relish her performances, as she ages with grace & 'disgrace' so elegantly. Keep it up Betty! You're an inspiration XO
Not really, it was pretty dull.
probably not. I want somthing more exciting.
Her voice is too quiet, and sort of monotone.
I would probably recommend it to people in my parents age group but not to those in my age group or younger.
