It-girl Betty White delivers a hilarious, slyly profound take on love, life, celebrity, and everything in between.
Drawing from a lifetime of lessons learned, seven-time Emmy winner Betty White's wit and wisdom take center stage as she tackles topics like friendship, romantic love, aging, television, fans, love for animals, and the brave new world of celebrity. If You Ask Me mixes her thoughtful observations with humorous stories from a seven- decade career in Hollywood. Longtime fans and new fans alike will relish Betty's candid take on everything from her rumored crush on Robert Redford (true) to her beauty regimen ("I have no idea what color my hair is and I never intend to find out") to the Facebook campaign that helped persuade her to host Saturday Night Live despite her having declined the hosting job three times already.
Featuring all-new material, with a focus on the past 15 years of her life, If You Ask Me is funny, sweet, and to the point - just like Betty White.

Betty White is so pleasant to listen to! I was stuck on a plane delayed on the jetway for over four hours late one night, and just as the other passengers were starting to lose their tempers, I started listening to Betty White and was saved. She's sweet and at times a bit too sentimental for my taste (especially when she talks about animals) but she seems so entirely genuine that I every time I disliked a moment I forgave her instantly. Betty creates an easy rapport in her accessible stories and her warm, happy narration.
I liked Betty White before listening to her read this book. Now, I love this dear lady. She's a blast...young at heart and wise in choosing to love life. I told three people about this book before I even finished listening.
Betty talked about her experience with Coco/Koko the famous primate. What a neat experience to learn about.
I enjoyed listening to this while walking. It felt like Betty was talking and talking with me. Really and enjoyable book from start to finish.
A nice easy listen. This is Betty White sitting down at the kitchen table and telling you her story
I love Betty White and she is just as bright and chipper in this book as in her TV shows. I have to believe that she must be a delightful person. Hope when I'm 90+ that I have her wisdom and enthusiasm for life. It isn't your typical autobiography but it is interesting and fun to listen to her describe some of the events in her long and eventful life. She loves pets and is always bringing new ones into her home. Hope we never get too old to adopt needy pets. She just makes you feel happy.
I thought I was getting comedy - it was really about her life, her awards, and her accolades. Blah, blah, blah... Not what I was looking for.
Artist, Baker, Intropersonal skills expert, Mom.
Having no elders, I'd personally listen to this time and again over my life.
It's Betty White, not comparable.
Having been a fan of this actor in "Golden Girls" I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about her life, both past and present. It is funny, inspirational and heartwarming.
Betty White is funny, beautiful and timeless. This is a good book, it's just that she has other, funnier books. That's what you get for living so long, we should all be so lucky.
Betty's story is refreshingly real and naturally funny. I love listening to her and find myself going back and relistening when I need a little lighthearted humor to lift my day. She's a peach.
Nurse working at being a nurse practitioner. The only way I have time to read for pleasure is audio books while I drive to work. I have always liked audio books.
I felt I was talking to Betty in my living room or hers. She is vivacious and an inspiration.
I loved the narration
