It-girl Betty White delivers a hilarious, slyly profound take on love, life, celebrity, and everything in between.
Drawing from a lifetime of lessons learned, seven-time Emmy winner Betty White's wit and wisdom take center stage as she tackles topics like friendship, romantic love, aging, television, fans, love for animals, and the brave new world of celebrity. If You Ask Me mixes her thoughtful observations with humorous stories from a seven- decade career in Hollywood. Longtime fans and new fans alike will relish Betty's candid take on everything from her rumored crush on Robert Redford (true) to her beauty regimen ("I have no idea what color my hair is and I never intend to find out") to the Facebook campaign that helped persuade her to host Saturday Night Live despite her having declined the hosting job three times already.
Featuring all-new material, with a focus on the past 15 years of her life, If You Ask Me is funny, sweet, and to the point - just like Betty White.

Random thoughts bounce you back and forth in time and places of Betty White. How Betty approaches work and her passions in life is what this book is about. Wish this book was more in depth, but that being said, can't help but to love Betty.
I loved hearing Betty White narrate this herself. I'm no Spring chicken either. I used to watch you on THE AL JARVIS SHOW, on channel 13! Every day after school. I thought you and Al Jarvis's wife were the most beautiful women on TV or in movies. My married sister who lived close by also was a fan. I would often go to her house and watch with her. Then later, I was actually on, "The Al Jarvis," dance party, several times. But I was never especially an AL Jarvis fan. I always wondered how he married such a beautiful woman as he did. In those young years I was very superficial. I loved your stories. I would imagine you could write hundreds of books.
There are two things you should know about Betty White:
a. she is a huge animal lover and
b. she is one of the most positive people out there.
I love her acting and from interviews I had seen it's not very hard to deduct that she is a delightful person, who immensely enjoys what they are doing for a living.I fully appreciated how funny she was when I started watching 'Hot in Cleveland', a brilliant comedy show that deserves a post on its own.
I highly recommend it if you are a fun of Betty's.In this memoir, she writes about events in her life worth noting down: her show business career, the friends she made over the years and of course about her love for animals. I knew she was an animal lover but I never fully realised how much. She never had children of her own, because she had her furry companions. And I love and respect her more for that. She is truly grateful that she did what she wanted as her profession and that she helped people along the way.
I love Bettty's voice! My only complain for the audiobook: it's too short.
When she talks about her husband and her pets.
Betty is the best ! Love her sense of fun and humor . She cracks me up and I feel close to her deep within my soul! Totally recommend this book or audible to everyone who loves and appreciates Betty 😊💕
Thank God for Audio books and audible!
We Love Betty!
I learned a lot about Betty, Of course her love and devotion to animals is moving and shows how wonderful and loving a person she truly is, but I did not know she collects stuffed animals and LOVES Crossword puzzles. Oh, and next time I'm at Pinks I will for sure order a NAKED BETTY WHITE Hot dog!! :-)
I've loved her since The Mary Tyler Moore show and I've seen her recently on old black and white game shows from the 1950's. SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I think she still is.
I enjoyed being a part of Betty White's world for a little while. listening to her talk was enjoyable the book itself was okay
Betty White kept me laughing. I plan on listening to the book again. I recommend this book to all Betty White fans or those who are interested in learning more about Betty White.
What is there to say? Everyone loves Betty White! This is the first book of hers that I've read but I fully intend on reading all of them. Thank you for your humorous, insightful and loving view on life. Betty is a true classy lady and it's no wonder she's adored by all, especially our animal friends.
I don't enjoy it.
Disappointment. No enlightenment at all.
Only appealing to her fans. No "elderly wisdom" as I expected.
