Refreshing but sad

Informative and eye opener into the lives of women in Pakistan. Imagine being married at the age of 13!!! Cruelty and child abuse.

Powerful story of perseverance and resilience

Really enjoyed learning more about Malalas story. What an incredible life she’s had. I hope she continues to make the world a better place.

A must read book, an essential audio

Malala is an amazing young woman who deserves our support. Her voice rises up for those who have no voice. In listening to this audio, in learning more about Malala, you will be moved by her life, by her passion, by her vision. Listen to her, support her, let us stand with her.

Inspiring

What I love most about this book is the way it humanizes the different players. You are presented with these people who do great things, good or bad, and the ones doing good are very inspiring.

Absolutely Incredible

I don't remember when I first heard about Malala. I don't remember hearing about her being shot by the Taliban or her pursuing education for all. I have a feeling the first time I had heard about Malala was her speech to the UN or when she was doing rounds of interviews with places like The Daily Show. Regardless I've had her book, I Am Malala, on my to-read list for a long time and am so glad that I started my 2017 reading endeavor with her amazing tale.

I realized early on in the novel my complete and shockingly scary lack of knowledge on Pakistan and their history. Much of the first quarter of I Am Malala is setting up not only Malala's life but also that of Pakistan as a country. Although it at first felt slightly out of place from what I was expecting, historical references help shape what turns out to be the groundwork for all the turmoil in Pakistan. It was amazing to learn about the revolving door at the head of their government and how that impacted the lives of the citizens of Pakistan. Even as a young girl yu hear stories of how the changes in Pakistan directly impacted Malala and her family.

What I loved most about I Am Malala was that I felt like I could still hear her youthfulness within the novel. There's this innocence that you would think after all she had gone through would be long gone. It can be easy to forget that at the end of the day Malala is just a young girl who has an immense passion for education. For me personally, someone who dreaded school, it made me take a step back for the first time and truly appreciate how fortunate I am for all the education I received without ever once thinking about how fortunate I was to receive it.

I Am Malala is a novel that I'd recommend to anyone. It's beautifully written, and the story is more human then anything I've read in a long time. The story was less about her being shot by the Taliban and more about her pursuit for education for all. I loved this book and am sad it took me this long to read it.

This is a must-read book!

I was struck by the Christ-like story of Malala upon hearing this book. She is preaching a gospel to the poor, attacked and (nearly) killed by the defenders of her religion, returns to her gospel, but is rejected by her own people. It is a deeply moving tale that should inspire us all to heed her words and work to realize her vision of peace, education and equality.

Archie P does a masterful job, subject is very humbling. Malala and the Pope are two symbols for peace

Strength of Character and Purpose Beyond Measure

Malala is a beautiful soul on this planet, who by the grace of God is getting her message of education for girls and equal rights for all heard around the world in the spirit of love, peace, courage, faith, perseverance, and in the name of all that is right and good. This autobiography should be introduced and read in every classroom globally, and heed taken to examine, learn from, and not repeat the historical precedents which have unfolded in her young life. If every person was as well read and sincere about their life's purpose to better this world, peace would reign.
Please read her incredible life's story, and be prepared to be changed inside forever, and ready to act in order to better other's needs.

Great book

An amazing account of her struggles and why she feels so strongly about educational rights for girls in Pakistan. This book helped me to better understand Pakistani culture. It's also scary how things changed so quickly when the Taliban moved in, how people were so easily misled by someone who was charismatic. We like to think that couldn't happen in our country, but I couldn't happen to draw some parallels to what's happening in our country right now. This is a very thought provoking book, I highly recommend it.

Inspirational and moving!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this title. the narrator was exceptional and Malala's story is moving. I feel I have not done enough to help the world after hearing all the work she did prior to being shot. The bullet gave her the platform but, she was already doing the work she was called to do.
