Aged nine, Joss came home from school to discover her father's suicide. She's never got over it.

This is the true story of Joss, 13, who is angry and out of control. At the age of nine, Joss finds her father's dead body. He has committed suicide. Then her mother remarries and Joss bitterly resents her step-father who abuses her mentally and physically.

Cathy takes Joss under her wing but will she ever be able to get through to the warm-hearted girl she sees glimpses off underneath the vehement outbreaks of anger that dominate the house and will Cathy be able to build up Joss's trust so she can learn the full truth of the terrible situation.

I love how honest and real Cathy is in sharing her experiences as a carer.

And yet another winner by Cathy Glass. There is sadness in the need for foster care, but there is peace in knowing there are carers like Cathy giving these children the best chances possible.

Amazing story

I love this author and her details of various circumstances. It is even more encouraging because of these being about real children.

Thank you, Cathy, for helping Joss. Because of you, she was able to turn her life around and reveal why her heart was heavy. Well Done!

Amazing Book!

Cathy Glass is my most favorite author, ever! I have listened/read ALL aid her books and I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of the next book, which comes out today(1-19-23). I just listened to this one, for a third time, to keep me occupied.

Cathy Glass has kept calm through some REALLY hard times. She has a wonderful way of explaining and writing. I wish I could meet this fabulous lady. I hope she reads these reviews.

Great!

This book was very well written. It did need a trigger warning though. About half way through there is a rape. Other than the lack of warning this book was great. 10/10 recommend.

Thank you

Another great read. Thank you for sharing stories that many children do not get a chance to. As a foster child and then adopted child life was rough. Hearing we’re not allow is helpful. Looking forward to the new book in Feb 23.
