Drew Manning, a natural fitness junkie and devoted personal trainer, had never been overweight in his life. He never craved junk food or missed an opportunity to work out. Yet despite his obsession with fitness, he failed to help his clients reach their goals. Something had to give. Manning needed to understand what it was like to be on the other side; he had to spend a few months in his clients' shoes - or rather, size.
For six months, Manning radically let himself go. He stopped exercising and ate nothing but the typical American diet of fast and processed foods. Not surprisingly, he started to gain weight. Manning made national news when he posted a blog revealing that he had gained more than 60 pounds. (He ended up gaining 75.) In only half a year, the out-of-shape trainer-turned-blogger had gained more than he ever expected - and not just in pounds.
Manning devoted the next six months to losing the weight as quickly as he had gained it. The lessons he learned were priceless, as he had now experienced both sides of the weight-loss battle. What started as a physical challenge became an emotional and mental wake-up call.

Insightful and Sensitive
Would you listen to Fit2Fat2Fit again? Why?
Yes. It a compelling story as well as chock full of helpful info about the difficulties in coping with obesity. It helps me appreciate the struggle I and other compulsive over-eaters are engaged in daily. I will return to this book time and again as I continue my journey towards a healthier lifestyle.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Drew. He does a good job sharing what he learned in his Fit2Fat2Fit experience. He gained a lot of insight by actually putting himself through the paces of over-eating, then struggling with weight loss.
What does Drew Manning bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Personal experience with the issue, knowledge of the benefit of exercising, and sensitivity toward his clients
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Drew's lapse into lethargy as he piled on the excess weight. Also, his anxiety about whether he would be able to lose it now that he has gained 60 unwanted pounds.

Very good book full of insights. Drew's wife also does a great job describing her concerns and experience as her husband embarked on this adventure. Very honest sharing of her own experience.

Such a good book!
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
Drew & his wife, Lynn, did a great job!
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
I purchased this book in an attempt to find some kind of motivation to work out and loose baby weight from my 4th baby who is 3 months old. I'd been so tired and getting motivated had been harder than ever. Fit to Fat to Fit was so endearing and insightful about the challenges I'm facing and helped me decide how and that it is possible to face them. The hope and humor Drew's story provided was priceless. I will probabley listen to it many times to remember the support and wisdom it provided as I go through my own jouney.

Very insightful!
I can't imagine being fit your whole lifestyle from and deciding to gain an excess of weight. In my opinion only a person who truly wants to change lives would take such drastic measures.

I think what the guy did was a very good experience but gaining 75 pounds and then losing it = not much there.

definitely worth a listen
I got this book because I hit a plateau. I was 5 agonizing kgs from my goal. I touched on the brink a few times and the thoughts of why should I care started to creep in.
Drew and his stories kept it real for me because you can relate to his story and his perspective. this book is on the mental side of it.
