Would you listen to Father and I Were Ranchers again? Why?

I would listen to this book again, but first I'd like to finish the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Father and I Were Ranchers?

    The trick riding competition.

Have you listened to any of Cameron Beierle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

We cried! But we laughed too.

    "1900 Colorado Ranching"

This story takes place in 1906 when the family moved from New Hampshire to Colorado. The story is mostly about the relationship between father and son, and the lessons the father gives on being a man. The story about ranching and farming and the problems with lack of water, weather problem and mostly great neighbors is a familiar story to anyone who ranches or farms. It is a nice pleasant story with some humor, sadness and the trials of starting up in a new school. Makes for a good story to read between more serious reading or as a break from a hard week at work. Good family story. Cameron Beierle does a good job narrating the story. This is the first book in a series.

    "A wonderful story well read"

Perfect for the long road trip from Missouri to Alberta. Kids looked up places from the story in the atlas as we traveled. And the reading was clear and well done.

    "Great Story"

Love the story but did not love the reader. As one reviewer said, it was very distracting for the reader to accent incorrect syllables in words. He also often placed emphasis on unimportant words like "not" and "and" and "or".

"Every new father should read this book."

A great story about a boy and his father in a new and strange location. it's good to read a story that drives home what being a man is all about. So much of this is lost on us now, in out instant gratification consumerist world. there is a lot we can all learn from this book!

    "Excellent Story"

we had read the book previously and are now listening to the audio versions. The narrator does an excellent job reading this story. These books are outstanding stories of pluck, grit, and downright inventiveness all told with terrific descriptions. These are a must read or listen to in every home!
