Wonderful book, great read aloud
The story pulls you in and the characters are written perfectly. The best role models, especially for boys, than any other book I can think of right now.

American Classic
Where does Father and I Were Ranchers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This has been a favorite in my house. My kids have listened to the whole thing twice over the summer. I enjoyed it myself as much as I did when I was a kid and my mother read it to me. The narrator of this audiobook is very very good. The recording quality is also good.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the authenticity of the Little Britches series. I also love to see how easily my kids relate to the children in the book.
Have you listened to any of Cameron Beierle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I would love to listen to his other work.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it was very hard to stop.

Amazing!
This book was one of the best books that I have ever read, (or listened to😏)
Though it is a great, heart touching book, I was so sad that I almost cried when Ralph’s Father got pneumonia and, well, no spoilers😉.
I personally find audibles more enjoyable that regular book. I like to listen as I put my makeup on every day.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes history (true story), and anyone who likes something simple.

Everyone should read this book or hear this story!
The adventures are inspiring. The father and mother of this family are so wise, they are a great influence. Imagining what life was like about 100 years ago is peaceful and simplistic. I'm not sure modern people would survive very well. This book is a great learning experience as well as fun.
The reade r of the audible version does a great job of portraying characters, scenarios, and emotion.
