Story
Dolly Parton is best known for her musical prowess, but there is so much more to her character than people realize. Nowadays, she is the epitome of old Hollywood glamor. She is pretty well known for getting a lot of cosmetic surgery over the years in order to keep up the gaudy, glamorous image we’ve come to know and love. Even through all this she’s still modest. What people may not realize is that her early life was anything but glamorous.

Story
Loretta Lynn and the late Patsy Cline are legends - country icons and sisters of the heart. For the first time ever, Loretta tells their story: a celebration of their music and their relationship up until Patsy's tragic and untimely death. Full of laughter and tears, this eye-opening, heartwarming memoir paints a picture of two stubborn, spirited country gals who'd be damned if they'd let men or convention tell them how to be. Set in the heady streets of the 1960s South, this nostalgia ride shows how Nashville blossomed into the city of music it is today.

"Here is Betty White - a woman who has been on television forever!" is generally how Betty White is introduced. And quite accurately, too, since she first appeared in 1949, when both she and television were rank beginners. Since then, she has had one of the most amazing careers in TV, winning five Emmy awards, creating such unforgettable characters as Sue Ann Nivens and Rose Nylund, and appearing in a host of television classics.

Reissued for the 40th anniversary of the Oscar-winning, Sissy Spacek-starring film of the same name, Coal Miner's Daughter recounts Loretta Lynn's astonishing journey to become one of the original queens of country music. Loretta grew up dirt poor in the mountains of Kentucky, she was married at 13 years old, and became a mother soon after. At the age of 24, her husband, Doo, gave her a guitar as an anniversary present. Soon, she began penning songs and singing in front of honky-tonk audiences and eventually made her way to Nashville, securing her place in country music history.

Brandi Carlile was born into a musically gifted, impoverished family on the outskirts of Seattle and grew up in a constant state of change, moving from house to house, trailer to trailer, 14 times in as many years. Though imperfect in every way, her dysfunctional childhood was as beautiful as it was strange, and as nurturing as it was difficult. Publisher's summary
Audie Award Finalist, Personal Development, 2014
The legendary Dolly Parton shares for the first time her deeply held philosophy of life and her heartfelt hopes for everyone. Based on the hugely popular commencement speech Dolly Parton gave at the University of Tennessee that became a sensation, Dream More is a deeper and richer exploration of the personal philosophy she has forged over the course of her astonishing career as a singer, songwriter, performer, and philanthropist.
Using her speech as a jumping-off point, Parton explores the four great hopes she urges us to embrace: Dream more, learn more, care more, and be more. She culls examples of these values from her own life as illustrations, from growing up poor in the hills of eastern Tennessee to her experiences as the iconic performer she has become today.
Written by one of the cultural legends of our time, Dream More is a poignant and uplifting anthem for all who want to take charge of their lives and forge a future on their own terms.

Dolly Does It Again!!!
Would you consider the audio edition of Dream More to be better than the print version?
The audio edition is absolutely flawless and indispensable. Dolly Parton is the narrator so not only do you get to hear Dolly's story but you get to hear her words the way that ONLY she can deliver them. If you know anything about Dolly Parton, you know that she is an inspiration and and entertainer. She laughs, she jokes and she even SINGS on this edition. Now, you KNOW she ain't gonna be singing in the hardcover edition! (Ya, I said ain't).
What other book might you compare Dream More to and why?
This book is along the line of Dolly Parton's first book, "Dolly". She speaks to how her life inspired her to be who she is today. The difference is that Dolly uses this opportunity to help you get more from your life and move forward into YOUR future dreaming big and working to make those dreams come true.
Which character – as performed by Dolly Parton – was your favorite?
Dolly (performed by...well...Dolly).
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The book definitely made me laugh and cry. Wait til you hear Dolly talk about how she wants to die. Yah, she really does. I laughed out loud in public. There were also many moments that struck home, made me think hard about my life and ultimately made me cry.
Any additional comments?

Inspirational
Even if I wasn't a life long, die hard Dolly fan I would LOVE this book!
I have listened to it a dozen times or more and recommend it to absolutely everyone.
When I get to feeling blue, unmotivated, uninspired, upset, have a bad attitude, "energy vampires" sucking me dry...what ever my hardship is at the time...I listen to this book for my attitude adjustment and it works!
I always leave this book with a renewed and refreshing outlook to do better and be better. And everytime I listen to it, I get something new out of it.
Dolly has always been a healer, so to speak, for me...but this book...over everything she has ever released has had THE MOST impact on my overall ME.
It should be required listening for everyone.
Hands down my favorite most inspiring audio book I have ever listened to.
I couldn't recommend this book more. Listen to it and listen to it again. Absorb it, you won't regret it and anyone reading my review...if you are in a funk of some sort and need a pick me up...listen to this book and get to Dreaming More.

Happy Collection of Dolly'sWisdom w/Joyful lyrics
I have been a fan since I was a child. I would wake up at 6 a.m. just to hear her sing "Love is like a Butterfly" on our black and white tv. I love books read by the author as it comes across as more real... okay maybe be not completely real in that I like to imagine it is like a friend speaking to you. This book is a happy little book, speckled with colorful tales and even some song snippets. I think any fan of Dolly would enjoy this book. There is some down to earth wisdom, motivational and positive attitude tips, beyond merely tales of Dolly from her life. The last section is a collection of some of her best quips that one may have heard her say (or read in periodical publications).
This is not a tell all collection of underside of the entertainment industry. This is not trashing anyone. This is not a who slept with whom biography. This is not Peyton Place. This is not one of those dime store trash novel meant to titillate.
This is just a happy little collection of Dolly's wisdom with some real world experiences and a joyful lyric or two to tie it all together I found it uplifting and good.

Dolly Parton- Dream More
I don’t think if Dolly wrote anything it would be bad. She is such an inspiration to so many! She has always been a dreamer as I have been but she followed through and I didn’t. Her mother totally believed in her and mine didn’t. At 63 years of age she has made me believe I can dream again and there is no one to stop me but me!
