Publisher's summary

Best known for his best-selling novel, Babe, which was made into a major motion picture, Dick King-Smith draws on his over 14 years of experience on Woodlands Farm to create this thoughtful and humorous memoir. His time on the farm inspired countless stories as well as the numerous lovable characters found in them. In Chewing the Cud, he candidly talks about what moved him to become a children’s author.

I laughed out loud!

If you could sum up Chewing the Cud in three words, what would they be?

Funny, educational, animal-friendly

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dick. He is so funny about his trials in life and what he learned along the way. I loved his stories about the farm and how he learned he is not a businessman. We all learn what we aren't and sometimes forget what we are!

Any additional comments?

I loved all the animals. I feel like I have a connection with his farm. Animals are wonderful!
