Publisher's summary

In this astounding account, Wall Street's notorious bad boy - and original million-dollar-a-month stock chopper - leads us through a drama worthy of The Sopranos, from his early rise to power to the FBI raid on his estate to the endless indictments at his arrest, to his deal with a bloodthirsty prosecutor to rat on his oldest friends and colleagues - while they were doing the same. With his kingdom in ruin, not to mention his marriage, the Wolf faced his greatest challenge yet: how to navigate a gauntlet of judges and lawyers, hold on to his kids and his enraged model wife - and possibly salvage his self-respect. It wasn't going to be easy. In fact, for a man with an unprecedented appetite for excess, it was going to be hell.

Critic reviews

"His new memoir is graphic....Still a hustler, still a salesman - and also a hell of a writer." ( Kirkus Reviews)

Was bummed when it ended. Wanted more, so good!

I loved this book. Had me laughing, rolling my eyes, and shouting in agreement.

The narration is by far the best I've ever heard to date. I've listened to 19 books on Audible. Ray Porter has taught me the difference between "reading out loud" (most audio books) and "voice acting". This guy is a master voice actor. He speaks all dialogue in character and can seemingly do every accent imaginable. I'm going to buy more audio books narrated by him.

I would highly recommend this audio book to others.

Great follow up

It was a really insightful look into life after all the excess and crazy stories of grandeur in the first book. It was great to delve deeper into how he became the wolf of wall street. You get to hear the stories that helped shape who he became and how he ended up where he did. His humble beginnings and how he really was given an amazing talent he has a gift of salesmanship and an innate talent for motivating others. He becomes human in this book. It was fascinating.

Loved both the Wolf books fascinating

Would you listen to Catching the Wolf of Wall Street again? Why?

I might especially the business parts and all the information about what it took to prosecute him.

What did you like best about this story?

Riveting on many levels, amazing story well written, well narrated, honest funny cautionary tale

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to choose , but liked how he got off of drugs, and the way he made his company successful his relationships.. W business friends and people trying to nail him, .hedonistic parts not so much...hope he's learned to look beyond the surface in his choices of women...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I rationed myself

Any additional comments?

Read both books!

Skip the narrator

First things first: Going from Eric Meyers (narrating The Wolf of Wall Street) to Ray Porter (narrating this book) is like going from drinking Cristal Champagne to drinking a homeless man's concentrated urine. His voice is boring and incongruent with Jordan's writing voice and his character voices are just bad.

As for the book itself, Jordan's writing is entertaining, but you can skip this one. It mostly focuses on his arrest and cooperation and breakup with his ex wife. Overall it just isn't as good as the original.

So much better than the movie

If you've watched the movie you've seen nothing yet if the Wolf. This is the work to know his humanity and genius through.
