Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both of those dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

"I hope that's not really the cover. That's really going to hurt sales." (Don Fey, Father of Tina Fey)
"Do not print this glowing recommendation of Tina Fey's book until I've been dead a hundred years." (Mark Twain)
"Hilarious and insightful. Laugh-out-loud funny - oh no, a full moon. No! Arrgh! Get away from me! Save yourself!" (A Guy Turning into a Werewolf)
Tina Fey is funny and does a great job telling a very funny story of her years in show business. She is down to earth and incitefully finds hilarious points in even the most common everyday fact of life. A very light hearted enjoyable read sure to make you laugh.
Say something about yourself!
Top five- Tina Fey did a great job.
Talking about her childhood in Delaware County, where I live.
She narrated the book and added some side jokes and voices that really made the book even funnier.
Yes, I finished it in 3 days of commuting.
Buy it! Even if you're not a huge fan of Tina's, you will be after you listen!
No the first time was good enough.
Make it funnier.
I liked it, some parts made me laugh.
I listen to books on my long commute.
I really find Tina Fey funny and witty. Her insights and story are humorous and I laughed out-loud many times. The reviews I read before buying this book were glowing and high. Some of the growing pains she shared as a young woman probably appeal more to women than men.
Tina Fey is hilarious. The story of her childhood explained her comedic talent.
I loved the "behind the scenes" information about SNL. Hearing that the men of the show kept jars of urine in their offices almost made me pee, lol.
Tina's expressive voice makes the story come alive and brings a another layer of hilarity to the story.
This book made me laugh out loud several times. I listen primarily when i'm at the gym, and received several looks.
Lover of many types of genres! Enjoy listening to family novels on long road trips and non-fiction on my commute.
When Tina Fey is talking about her summer theater experiences.
No, but I have seen her on SNL.
I think the fact that you can relate to her. She's a regular gal.
I loved loved loved this audiobook. It was hysterical and just perfect for my cross-country trip. I would highly recommend it to everyone. I think it was great to have Tina reading it.
Loved hearing Tina Fey read this herself. Could almost see her talking and acting out each sentence. Wish books were rated like movies though so I could have avoided giving this to my boss in cd form and later downloading it to find out a bit late that there's a lot of language including "F" bombs. Tina tells great stories and has her own very interesting angle on life. Overall rated it pretty highly but think she's a hoot without the pottymouth. Brillliant writer!
Tina Fey as her parents.
Maybe even though it doesn't need the R rating language to be captivating and hilarious.
Tina of course, she is as funny as ever through the whole book. her narration is great.
the complete book is great but when she speaks about her father its great.
If you like Tina Fey you will love this book.
Funny, relevant, well-performed
Um...since it's kind of a bio, I'd say Tina. (Though Lorne Michaels comes in a close second.)
Yup, Lorne Michaels.
How on earth would one do that???
This was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad that they did. I laughed out loud from beginning to end. Ok, not literally from beginning to end, I don't need meds or anything, but this really had me chuckling. A lot. I'd been reading some pretty heavy stories lately and this was some welcome intelligent levity.
