Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both of those dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

"I hope that's not really the cover. That's really going to hurt sales." (Don Fey, Father of Tina Fey)
"Do not print this glowing recommendation of Tina Fey's book until I've been dead a hundred years." (Mark Twain)
"Hilarious and insightful. Laugh-out-loud funny - oh no, a full moon. No! Arrgh! Get away from me! Save yourself!" (A Guy Turning into a Werewolf)
I felt like I was exchanging banter with a close friend. Hilarious both in terms of things you can relate to and things you can't even imagine. Tina describes scenes and emotions that make you feel like you had also experienced the story with her.
I can't even imagine reading the book without having her narrate it. Her inflections and additional one liners of sarcasm and wit really bring you into her story. She adds a whole other dimension to the story that you would miss if you were reading it yourself.
I like reading, roller derby, creepy things and art.
I loved how biting and hilarious Tina's humor is. I think amidst this she offers really great advice for women in every profession.
I like that she didn't just read the book, it was full of bonuses.
I would have liked to do so.
That it was read by Tina.
Her story about menstru-hating!
If you love SNL you get some behind the scenes info.
It was very very funny. I laughed out loud many times.
It hit on the main points of her life/career.
It was a very entertaining audio book. It is narrated a little fast so you may want to slow down the speed.
Yes. I liked Ms. Fey's delivery and her wry sense of humor. I was pleasantly surprised to find wisdom interwoven with her wit and gained some insight into the world of show business. Ms. Fey advocates for hard work, laughs at herself, and supports the advancement of women in her field without sounding strident or whiny. A very good listen.
The audio version of Bossypants is much better than print version, because Tina is actually narrating the text. She talks like she is having a conversation with you. I am not much of an autobiography reader, so I was hesitant. However, the entire book is hilarious and engaging. I listened to the entire book in one sitting, I could not walk away!
Don't get me wrong!!! I love Tina Fey and am completely happy with this purchase. Only she could deliver it and have it come off as funny as it was! The only problem that I had was that at times it was very clear that it was targeted at women and I felt like I was in a Victoria's Secret waiting for my wife to try something on....no matter how cool you try to play it, you still feel like a creep.
But, with all that said, I would still recommend this to others...ESPECIALLY women!
Charming and funny
How honest and real she was.

Worth your time
Highly recommend when you want to listen to a great story, told by the author. I couldn't stop laughing
Tina Fey herself
Couldn't stop listening. You know it's good when you put the ear plugs in and it follows you around the house until you've finished. Sad when it was over.
Will be listening to this one at least twice.
I listened to this book while doing laundry, cleaning house and going to the gym. I kept giggling out loud. My husband never could figure out what I was up to.
