Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both of those dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

"I hope that's not really the cover. That's really going to hurt sales." (Don Fey, Father of Tina Fey)
"Do not print this glowing recommendation of Tina Fey's book until I've been dead a hundred years." (Mark Twain)
"Hilarious and insightful. Laugh-out-loud funny - oh no, a full moon. No! Arrgh! Get away from me! Save yourself!" (A Guy Turning into a Werewolf)
She is so funny and articulate. I highly recommend this book. The last part about women and motherhood were a little too much (I'm a man) but overall one of the funniest books I've ever listened to. Thank you Tina for making my long commute less of a hassle for two days.
Tina Fey is so witty! This book kept me laughing almost the whole time. At certain points I wasn't sure if she was telling the truth or making a joke, or making a joke about the truth, or if I was missing some reference. But it didn't matter....it was funny whichever way you look at it. So glad she narrated it, wouldn't have been as entertaining with anyone else reading it.
Had me laughing out loud on the train commute. Tina Fey does a great job reading it. No, wait. That's the wrong word. Tina Fey does a great job telling the stories. If you like her in anything you've ever seen her in (awkward interviews included) you'll enjoy this. Also, if you're a mother, a gay man, a rebellious teenager who is only getting this because your friends think she's stupid, or a person who just wants some laughter in their life. You're in luck.
I needed an easy listen and this hit the spot. Its funny, warm, smart, enjoyable. I wasn't aware of Tina Fey or her work before I read this; I'm not much of a TV person, but I loved it. I've listened to it a couple of times now and it makes me smile.
I could listen to this woman for ten more hours - she is funny and witty. So my only complaint is that the book is only 5 hours. I guess I can just listen to it again. The fact that she was able to get permission from SNL to include audio from the show in the book is great - loved that.
I am very happy I purchased and listened to this book. There are some great quotes in this that I have already started using such as "May I be amazing at you?". You couldn't write this stuff...well you know what I mean. This is also one of those books that is probably even better on audio due to the fact that the author actually reads it to you. So there are some extras and comments you would not get from the written book but of course it is a lot harder to get it signed by her. Thanks Tina.
Tina Fey is great - funny, witty, and smart. My husband and I both loved this - so if you and your sweetie are looking for an awesome audiobook to make the 7 hour drive to your vacation destination more fun, this is a great choice. Also great if you just want something funny yet thought provoking.
This book was made even better by the fact that Tina Fey reads it. The story jumps a little bit back and forth, but it offers a great glimps into Tina Fey's life at 30 Rock as well as her time with Saturday Night Live. I found myself laughing out loud a couple of times. A good book for women that likes to hear success stories and the struggle it took to get there.
This book made me be the crazy person on the bus laughing to myself the whole way to work and the whole way home. If you like funny things and want to be happy, read this book.
