Jennifer Saunders' comic creations have brought joy to millions. From Comic Strip to Comic Relief, from Bolly-swilling Edina in Ab Fab to her takes on Madonna or Mamma Mia, her characters are household names. But it's Jennifer herself who has a place in all our hearts. This is her funny, moving, and frankly bonkers memoir, filled with laughter, friends, and occasional heartache - but never misery.
Bonkers is full of riotous adventures: accidentally enrolling on a teacher training course with a young Dawn French, bluffing her way to each BBC series, shooting Lulu, trading wild faxes with Joanna Lumley, touring India with Ruby Wax and Goldie Hawn. There's cancer, too, when she becomes 'Brave Jen'. But her biggest battle is with the bane of her life: the Laws of Procrastination. As she admits, "There has never been a Plan. Everything has been fairly random, happened by accident or just fallen into place. I'm off now, to do some sweeping..." Prepare to chuckle, whoop, and go bonkers.

"I ruddy love Jennifer"
An absolute delight to listen to. I'm actually a little sad that it's finished now.
"laugh a minute"
"brave jen" is very funny and tells you about her life without being too indiscreet which i did enjoy. laughed whilst at work always a great look when a mental health nurse x
Wonderful book, written and read by a hilarious woman. Written with her brand of comedy, with the odd sad story as well. Would recommend in a second! 5* Easily!
"Slow start, but hang in there beautiful ending"
Found the honest style hard to get into but really found the normalness appealing to me as time went on. Lots of laugh out loud moments and unusually you do feel like you've been let into some really personal moments, they may not be whilst out drinking with the queen, but they are very touching, and inspiring to enjoy daily life and all its joys.
"Yep - Bonkers"
I am biased I know, but just loved the whole thing. Jennifer Saunders is fab. No nonsense, straight to the point, plenty of ranting. Loved the book, loved her narration, loved her friends and family. Wanted to listen to her for much longer. More please
Funny, moving, and some more funny. The fact that Jennifer Saunders reads it herself makes this a joyous way to spend a few hours.
I don't listen to many autobiographies but given how much I like Jennifer Saunders sense of humour I had to give this a go. Loved her reading and the way she broke in with stories within her stories. I identified with her military brat upbringing and Tom-boy behaviour which I was not previously aware of - and explained a lot about her personality. The book would not fit everyone's taste, but then again she is a comedian and not everyone shares the same laughs. I enjoyed it though and would listen to another book narrated / written by her.
Interesting funny and real. It was great having Jennifer reading her book too. Enjoyable throughout.
"Ab Fab what else!!"
Love love loved this story! What a funny woman! Going to give it a week and listen again I'm sure there's bits I've missed!
A great autobiography read by the author herself who imbues the entire reading with fun and laughter. Brilliant!
