Mark Cavendish is the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France's green jersey, the first to wear the iconic rainbow jersey in almost 50 years and our only ever rider to capture the Giro d'Italia points title. He is the most prolific sprinter in the Tour's history, and - according to L'Equipe - the best sprinter of all time. But smashing records and racking up victories means whole new levels of fame: and this has come at a price.
Living in the goldfish bowl, he has come under fire for his bombastic riding style and been portrayed as everything from an outlaw to a psychopath. Joining Sky in 2012, Cav soon found his own sprint interests to be incompatible with the team's other goals, while the expectations of a nation made his London Olympic failure hard to take.
In At Speed Cav takes you through the highs and lows of it all in intimate detail. This is a take-no-prisoners account of life at the pinnacle of his sport, and learning how to survive in the fast lane, both on and off the bike.

"Good book with really poor narrating"
No because the person narrating this book that has a lot of French/Italian/Spanish references and names does not have a clue how to pronounce them. Surely if you are narrating a sports persons book you would have someone that vaguely knows how to pronounce the riders names. This really lets it down although is slightly comical.
Nothing specifically was memorable it is a good biography
Gives an excellent insight into the seretive world that is sprinting in cycling and the behind the scenes events that shape mark cavendish as the fastest man on two wheels. Also this book gives information on what goes through his head when he is going for a stage win or the world championships title and the rainbow jersey.
"Cav at his crazy best"
Always love reading and in this case listening to Cav's books. Not sure he has more than two! But in listening to Speed you still get Cav with all his self doubt combined with his stunning brilliant best. Its still on the same format as Boy Racer, taking you through season by season. You get a few insights but no real scandal, maybe would have liked a bit more insight but you always get Cav with heart on his sleeve. Great listen.
"Cav is a legend"
CAV is a legend, knows his history, importance of races, awesome sprinter & all round cyclist.
Very enjoyable listen. An absolute legend and great ambassador for the sport.
Excellent. Great insight. Narration of perfect mainly due to mispronunciation of some cycling terms but hey I'm being picky. Great stuff
"A great read"
Fantastic book. I couldn't stop listening. A must for every cycling fan. I would recommend to anyone
