Chelsea’s Best

I thoroughly enjoy listening to Chelsea Handler’s books while I’m driving for an extended period of time. Her stories are entertaining and her narration is outstandingly animated. Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea is my favorite of her books. I literally laughed out loud. I have listened to the chapter about her first DUI about four times, I think.
If you are unfamiliar with Handler, her sense of humor, or the fact that nothing is off limits, you won’t get this book or any of her books for that matter. If you get her humor, like her, and are not offended easily, then you should definitely get the audio of this book.

Ehhh just ok

I bought this book but never read it and a friend suggested I listen. She's funny but not LOL funny. More humorous. I just really found some of the stories too unrealistic and kind of sad and irritating. Like the bit about massages made no sense - any normal person would have left. In any case, I don't feel compelled to finish it so I won't but can't give it a terrible review. She's talented and maybe some of her other books are better this ones just not totally for me.

A must!

If you love Chelsea Handler and her show Chelsea Lately, this audiobook will not disappoint. I loved that not only was she writer, but also the narrator. Her different voices that she uses for different characters in her book are hysterical! She is sarcastic and funny and a great writer. Once I started listening, I couldn't stop!

What made the experience of listening to Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea the most enjoyable?

This is one of the funniest book I've ever listened to; and I must say...I've never been a Chelsea Handler fan! THE GIRL CAN WRITE!! And it helps that she is also the narrator. 100% comedy in every chapter, love it to death and more. <3

What does Chelsea Handler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her personality is not for the faint at heart; which is why I adore her. She's hilarious. I can't put into words how awesome this book is.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

LMAO. Yes. I don't want to ruin it for you. But it takes place at a massage parlor.

Pretty funny short stories easy read

Love her books too funny! Easy read I would recommend. I like both her books that I have read thinking about ready the one her friends did based on the lies she's told.

Her Voice Will Get Stuck in Your Head

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, I expected to laugh a bit more, chucle at least. I understand humor is subjective and relative. The parts I found funny and at least made me smile differ from the parts the person who recommended this book found funny. In all, I was glad I recieved this book for free, I was disapointed in the content. If this is a collection of the best

No, I hadn't before and that makes me feel like I've saved myself that much time.

It was easy to follow which characters.

No, I found relief in the last page, I wouldn't care for a follow-up.

In the Author's defense I have not seen her shows or heard her stand up comedy, I'm not familiar with the way she speaks normally. Listening to her read her own book it sounded as though she was reading something unfamiliar to her. As if she was not using her own words, in which case if she were maybe the content would have flowed easier and have been more fun to listen to. Her tone is so definite and choppy I found myself thinking in the same manner when I read a piece of copy to myself. That was funny.

Made a loooong trip feel short!

This was the perfect book for a 14 hour drive to Florida a couple of months ago. She has an amazing gift to appeal to both men and women with her humor. When I reached my destination, I listened to it again with the adult women in my family. It is that funny.
