Combining memoir with a clear explanation of what makes cancer cells thrive and what inhibits them, and describing both conventional and alternative ways to slow and prevent cancer, Anticancer is revolutionary in its clarity. It is a moving story of a doctor's inner and outer search for healing; radical in its discussion of the environment, lifestyle, and trauma; and inspiring and cautionary in its certainty that cancer cells lie dormant in all of us - and we all must care for the "terrain" in which they exist.

One of the things I love about this book is the ability of the author to explain complex medical issues in everyday language.
I appreciate all the factual information that is presented throughout the book.
There really isn't a "scene" since this is more of a clinical book. But I will say that the author keep your interest throughout.
This is not a good subject for a film.
information was captivating
nice blend of science and personal elements
enjoyed tone of voice
i like the title already given
At the beginning of the book, David Servan-Schrieber is looking at charts on Cancer survival curves and looking for actions he could take to extend his life expectancy following his diagnosis. What he ends up doing in the process is leaving a treasure trove of actions and lifestyle changes that people should consider that might help them avoid getting cancer. The PDF that comes with the book includes many of his reference charts related to dietary recommendations. The book is very poignant and sincere and leaves the listener with a deep appreciation for gift he has left.
Listening to it while preparing dinner each night with my boyfriend who has stage recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The things discussed where topics I was frightened of bringing up with my boyfriend. it gave lots of ideas to discuss. As a result of listening to this I have changed my partners diet by about 75%.
Never give up.
No there is too much to learn, consider and absorb.
When things seem hopeless this book and the authors observations made me reconsider and gave me things I could do to make myself feel like I was helping.
After listening to this audio book, I have learned a lot, and have recommended to many people. I myself don't have cancer, but this book definitely can help to prevent cancer, too. Recently I've learned that he just died 20 years after his brain cancer diagnose, and I couldn't stop tearing up. Thank you for the precious gift you left to everybody!
This book is a life changer. One of the best books I have ever read. The only weak spot, for me anyhow, was the end where he took a very humanistic perspective of healing and staying healthy, whereas I was hoping he would have attributed more to Christianity. But that's... my belief, not his. Otherwise, the book was fantastic!
Anticancer is a very interesting and practical listen to help us live longer and healthier. If you enjoy this book try The China Study. If you like China Study, try Eating Animals. You will live longer and better if you put these ideas into practice.
